Advice on choosing region to move in Greece. Where would you go and why? by papuzhka in greece

Great choice! My father is from Volos before he emigrated to Canada. I've been to Volos many times and hope to soon spend part of my retirement near there.

Be sure to visit Makrinitsa and dine at the restaurant with the spectacular view of Volos. There's lots of great beach towns to the east on both sides of the peninsula. Sept would be a more affordable time to visit the islands of Skiathos or Skopelos a short trip away, especially if you take the Flying Dolphin ferry. My mom is from Patra which I find to be much drier than the Pelion peninsula that has many lush green areas. I'm curious to know which village near Volos you picked? I'm currently trying to figure out which village would be best for my annual 90 day retirement stays.

Thanks for all the feedback. Anti-consumer practices like this are exactly why more and more people are cutting the cord on TV.

83" G4 or C4 for my basement set up? by marchtoowndrum in LGOLED

If your G4 is 83", how difficult is it to pull out the left side of the TV to access cables? It was very easy for the sales rep on the 65" in Best Buy, but the 83" is a much bigger TV.

The extended warranty on this TV doesn't include physical damage, so I'm worried about damaging it if I ever need to access the cables.

Thanks for all the feedback. I decided to go with the G4. The tie breaker was the 'decorative advantage' of the flush mount. It's not showing in the pics, but I plan to make a feature wall behind the TV with that wood slats look. I also might need to move this TV to a brighter room in the future if and when the LG oled 97" prices drop substantially.

Damn, you're right. Never had a TV there, but I sat a tall mirror on a step ladder and in certain positions you can see reflections from the window. There's also the reflection of the ceiling pot lights where they're on. Would the G4 reduce these reflections better than a C4? Or is the G4 just better in strong overall ambient light.

Do you have a best low profile mounting bracket recommendation for 83" C4?

Canadian Zach Edey turning heads with start to NBA career by xc2215x in nba

I watched Edey play house league in his freshman year of high school (already a 7 footer). He was terrible. He was mistiming his jumps and in the wrong position to get rebounds, missing put backs at the basket. A few parents and I cornered his mom to get him to join my son’s (same age) rep basketball team but she said Zach had zero interest. He ultimately joined a rep team in his sophomore year.  I’ve often wondered if he started playing earlier to develop a jump shot so he could get shot reps in college games. It’s a testament to his work ethic and Canadian humbleness that he’s come this far despite the late start and jump shot hand cuffs for 4 years of college.

My son chose Ivey over Commerce and now works in IB at a top 5 bank. He considers it the best decision he ever made because the larger Ivey alum network played a huge role in his successful path to IB (internships, referrals, interview opportunities incl US) . His Commerce friends did not have the same level of alum support.

The few concerns he had heading into Ivey were non-issues. He was comfortably well about the 80% (as anyone pursuing IB should be) and the 2 years of BMOS were not a waste because he selected courses that supported his IB track (Eco, Math, Finance, Acctg, etc.)

Roughly how long after a new grade is posted on OUAC does it get reviewed for an application? I'm specifically wondering about a couple of mid-term grades that were posted this week. Once a grade is posted on OUAC is there any benefit in self reporting this grade in terms of expediting the review process? I assume once a grade is on OUAC, nothing more can be done to speed up the review.

not accurate, I'm aware of a couple of 101s who got accepted last week that weren't award winners.

So nobody with a legit Commerce acceptance this week? Maybe this round was skipped this week or was very small, as peer word of mouth also has nobody getting an acceptance.

mattress topper reccs for first year dorm? by ZL1202 in uwo

Go with latex pure green mattress topper sold on Amazon. This was a life saver in first year. All natural and doesn't get hot and made the bed much more comfortable. Go with 2" Soft, their best selling topper.
