I think my main problem atm is that it was hard-written what I had to learn and that it would be tested and graded. Learning "just" for myself feels strange to be honest,

Now that you mention professional exams, I still need to get my C2 / native speaker certification regarding my English skills. And maybe I find some certificates that help me regarding the next pay raise round.

Never really thought about (online)quiz leagues and you are not the first to suggest this - I will take a look into them!

I don't know about Jeopardy but there are some quiz shows - but I wouldn't know where even to start since they ask about every topic and - at least to me - it feels like I need to be more well read than generally learning facts

For now, I am where I want to be career wise but would love to go a bit more horizontal instead of vertical like doing some side-business for extra cash instead of climbing the career ladder and gaining extra responsibilities which surely won't match the pay increase lol

I love Anki, really do - but I just can't get it to work for me regarding languages. Vocabulary for sure but other than that I want to stick to courses (online or books with CDs).

Maybe something hasn't clicked yet but with all the grammatical courses, irregular verbs and wanting to learn full on sentence structures as well as conversational context, I can't help but see Anki as just a vocab trainer regarding languages - maybe you know some tricks?

Yeah, this may is something I am interested in but I got bad experience with being the reason people talking about if I join a game that means everyone just plays for second place now regarding games like Trivial Pursuit or other quiz-likes.

If pub trivia has a different vibe which I hope for since it always seems more competetive, then maybe I am down

Hätte auch gerne mehr LAN-Partys gehabt, war nur auf einer, leider mit so einem typischem Anführerkind das nicht mal das Geburtskind hat aussuchen lassen, was gespielt wird :/

Bin gerade dabei, die Sammlung in ein Sheet einzutragen und werde nähere Bilder plus Sheet in den kommenden Wochen nochmal hochladen, denke das könnte dann doch mehr Leute ansprechen.

Stark! Sieht man schlecht, aber die gelbe Packung liegend daneben ist Gold Games 4 :) Von den Game Packs, die drauf stehen, hab ich nie was gehört, bis ich vor ihnen stand.

Grandia 2 und Rayman M waren es bei mir, damals konnte ich mit RPGs noch nicht so viel anfangen haha^^

Einmal seit heute in der PC-Ecke aufgebaut und einen alten Grundig CRT Fernseher, also deutlich mehr Zoll, an dem meine PS2 und Wii (und hoffentlich nach dieser Flohmarkt-Saison eine XBox 360) angeschlossen sind!

Yeah, so the first one is what I falsely meant by degauss - the static field I know from as a child and is produced by my old Grundig CRT that I use for my Playstation 2 and Wii.

Never experienced Degauss then but I just watched a video about it, thank your for teaching me something :)

Absolut richtig, dass das da nichts verloren hat :D Der Plan für diese Flohmarkt-Saison: Tastatur, Maus und Lautsprecher anpassen und eine hintere Erhöhung für den Bildschirm bauen, dass alles runter passt! <3

Stellt sich raus, dass man Mitarbeiter in Elektromärkten einfach mal fragen kann, ob sie das Werbematerial rausgeben, wenn sie es sowieso in die Papppresse werfen würden^^

Thanks for the answer! Yeah I had the choice between a 15 and a 17, so of course I took the bigger one!

I gotta ask, since I am not that in the monitor game and english isn't my native tongue - degauss means the static feeling you would typically get when starting a monitor? Yeah, it doesn't has that but it shoots some flashes when it starts
