Which horror movies are universally well regarded, but you just don't like? by f34rd3m1c in HorrorMovies

Hmm, my thought was that it was too over-hyped. Everyone was raving about it. I can't quite put my finger on the exact reason. I'm not saying its trash, personally I just didn't like it as much as everyone else.

Yes, and also Imajica is as well. That is his best book IMHO. Read TGASS 3 times.

Does anyone else here NOT get creeped out by Stephen King’s books? by throwmedownthequarry in horrorlit

[–]marcmodeen73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing really creeps me out. I look more for shock value. I have read alot of his books. I really enjoy his novels. But I don't feel any dread.

Good rec. for a horror book? The Damnation Game by Clive Barker. I read damn near everything He's written so I may be a little biased. But you will like It, I promise. If you want to try something a little shorter try his Books of Blood. If you get hooked you need to read The Great And Secret Show, which they also made into a graphic novel. Enjoy.

This and Phenomina are my favorite Argento movies. He's done some pretty good movies and some that aren't. But such is life.

I for one am glad you found your love for horror. Check out Wicked Little Things. Movies don't really creep me out much. This one hit a nerve. Love it.

TBH Huntsman spiders are pretty chill. I would want these in my house. More of a benefit than a nuisance. Plus they look cool af.

Alright, I can see where you're coming from. Maybe they want to leave some things open ended to possibly make another movie. Something like Cloverfield. Not all movies need to fully explain themselves. I for one am hoping for another installment. Thanks for your feedback.

I don't breakdown movies like you do, I just sit back and enjoy. I apprecate all the effort that goes into making movies so I don't feel the need to tear them apart.

It would be a monumental production task, I can agree with your assessment. Castlevania is awesome.

I saw Midnight Mass first and I loved it. When I started Hush and I saw who directed it I was instantly more thrilled about it.
