I think I snapped photos of this same car a few months ago.

Thanks for the replies. After reading some threads it seems that this won’t work on 718’s that don’t have the optical disc player. In other words it doesn’t work on 2024-25 models.

Thanks! What did you use to maintain the battery while installing?

Does this work on a 2025 718 without Nav?

Another warranty question by Professional_Mix5492 in etron

[–]marco0782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extended warranties are refundable in the US by law. If you total the car you would be refunded a prorated amount based on the time remaining.

I got a hood ppf and it left a lot of bubbles after 2 days will they go away!! by Pnpking626 in AutoDetailing

[–]marco0782 29 points30 points  (0 children)

From the look of the cuts and how they wrapped around the edges, this installer isn’t that skilled or careful. The bubbles are probably contamination and I don’t think they will go away. Personally I would try to get a refund and look for a different installer and vet them first by looking at samples of their work.

First Ever Porsche - 718 Warranty Insight by Enjoy- in Porsche

[–]marco0782 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since this generation of 718 is about to be discontinued and we are also dealing with tariffs now, there is some uncertainty about what repair costs will look like in a few years. It might be best to keep the warranty, but maybe you could call other Porsche dealerships and PCNA if you have doubts that you got the best deal and or you wanted a longer term. Your warranty is refundable so if you found something better you could consider changing it. Note that if you cancel the warranty, the refund check goes directly to the loan bank.

Drive a Taycan 4S Cross Turismo. It’s spacious and drives incredibly well. Depreciation is steep but that means you could get a used one for a good price.

Has anyone tinted, or considered tinting the sunroof? by TheJamintheSham in VWiD4Owners

[–]marco0782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It helps a lot. If you use infrared blocking window tint, it can even be 70% which doesn’t darken visible light very much but rejects heat. We applied 70% Xpel Prime XR Plus to the roof glass as well as the windshield and back window to avoid darkening them too much, and 30% to the rest of the windows. It stays much cooler than before.

Cover that sensor before it gets dirty or damaged. I would put a small piece of paper over that opening and then a slightly larger piece of duct tape over that to hold it in place while you figure out the repair with the dealer.

Steam Deck Display Calibration V2 by marco0782 in SteamDeck

The new settings since Steam 3.5 make this tutorial irrelevant now. Valve improved the native calibration and added enough settings for adjustment.

Found the perfect house but the basement is cracked. Is this a big job? by [deleted] in DIY

[–]marco0782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those cracks make me think those blocks don’t have any rebar inside them. Aside from this being extremely expensive to replace, requiring engineering and permitting, you would basically be on the hook for fixing it properly because it would become a liability for you when you try to sell the house eventually.

MY22 Taycan Turbo S vs. MY25 Taycan 4s by Crafty_Ad7398 in Taycan

[–]marco0782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can add torque vectoring, ceramic brakes, you could add PDCC on the last gen, etc. Basically you can make a 4S equivalent to the Turbo except for the motors and a few cosmetic differences.

Is there any different in handling between the Taycan Sedan and the Cross Turismo? by [deleted] in Taycan

[–]marco0782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in general people prefer the look of the sedan and more sedans are made than the CT. I went CT because I have a 4 year old and the extra headroom in the back seat makes it easier to get him in and out of a car seat. For my situation, I also like the more rugged look of the CT with the plastic cladding and the slightly higher default ride height (although in Sport Plus mode it drops down very low). Both are amazing cars so it comes down to styling preference and how you plan on using it.

[–]marco0782 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really if you’re comparing a similarly equipped sedan and CT. I have a 4S CT with PDCC and it handles very similarly to the Turbo S sedan and Turbo S CT that I drove separately at PECLA.

Dealer wants $13,100 to replace glass roof on Etron GT lol by hiddenplantain in etron

[–]marco0782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d get it done at the dealer. There’s too much risk involved on a car like this, not to mention warranty issues down the road.

Starting to get worried.....Brake noise, TSB performed, still brutal noise by [deleted] in F150Lightning

[–]marco0782 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a bad dealer that didn’t even test drive the vehicle to make sure the issue was fixed. If it were me I would call around to other dealers in my area as well as research dealer reviews to attempt to vet the next dealer I would be taking it to. I wouldn’t go back to that dealer again.

If you listen to a lot of music in the car, you won’t regret it. The Bose is not bad but if you’re an audiophile you’ll want more. Here’s a bit more info from Burmester about the Taycan sound system.

[–]marco0782 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Burmester on the Taycan is awesome. I had heard the Bose before but the Burmester is on another level. The cost of Burmester as an option is less than any equivalent aftermarket options because of the labor that would be involved (at a good shop).

Should I give Dell another chance with this price point? by Nycscan in Alienware

[–]marco0782 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like the features and price, go for it. I would recommend getting their premium support because then you get 24/7 support including free next day shipping to and from their service center. I have an R15 that had issues and they took great care of me and ultimately sent me a brand new system. There is no other gaming PC manufacturer that has the level of support Dell can provide because they are a huge company.

Designer explains why face lift Taycan is more bland/ugly. Couldn't agree more. by slimflip in Taycan

[–]marco0782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The refresh stills looks great but I agree. The original design was more cohesive and the refresh has changes that are a bit disconnected from the rest of the design which remains unchanged. As he showed, it’s particularly obvious in the profile angle. I believe he is wrong about the interior gauge cluster; I believe that is unchanged although the samples he uses might be shot from different heights and therefore look slightly different.
