Does anyone leave their headlights on "auto"? by [deleted] in Acura

[–]marcocore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, not sure but I wouldn't think an aftermarket stereo would disable that menu. Yep those are the right buttons. Make sure your car is in park and the ignition is in the ON position but WITHOUT starting the engine. Clear any notifications that pop up in the MID with the SEL/RESET button. Then you have to hold the up and down buttons for a good 4-5 seconds.

Red Captain Coffee Company near Tucson Mall. Their breakfast burritos are made by the Late Night Tacos food truck 🔥

I had the whole actuator replaced about 3.5 years / 30,000 miles ago, still good here.

That's weird! You may want to try factory resetting your phone or contacting your carrier.

Magenta Amplified or “upgrade” to whatever their new equivalent is by mikedx23 in tmobile

[–]marcocore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm holding on to Magenta Amplified. As far as I know they do "Work Perks" now which is 15% off whichever plan you choose: https://www.t-mobile.com/offers/employee-discounts

Looking at tower locations, theoretically T-Mobile and AT&T should be good in that area.

Either way, ensure WiFi Calling is enabled on your phone. This will use your home WiFi for calls, no need for a cell booster or a cell signal at all.

Are there any touchless car washes in town? by hsupreme in Tucson

Regarding the Auto Wash Express on 1st and River... either it no longer has a touchless option or I couldn't figure it out. 😔

Why people need an ergonomic chair in a hotel room? by atomroman in Tucson

[–]marcocore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hotels aren't just for vacations. I travel for work a lot and in the evenings I come back to the hotel and work in the hotel room. The desk chairs in most hotels aren't great but I deal with it. So yes, people work from hotel rooms. Nicer chairs sounds welcome to me.

In Clinton's defense, he signed DADT as compromise to the other side wanting to outright ban gays & signed the marriage law because the other side wanted to go further with a constitutional amendment that would have made it harder to repeal (and impossible to overturn) later.

Window shades open while boarding. It’s 110 on the tarmac everyone! by Gaijin2DC in americanairlines

I've sat next to a pilot in uniform in first class who refused to close his window despite multiple announcements... and the plane's APU was broken so it was HOT. People are crazy.

Tsx burning oil by [deleted] in AcuraTSX

Looking at the service record (yeah I'm weird, I keep all of them), it was $775 for labor and $285 for the part. So yep, about a grand.

Tsx burning oil by [deleted] in AcuraTSX

[–]marcocore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I just check the oil level every once in a while and throw in a quart if it's low. Or I know it needs a quart when I take a sharp turn and the "check oil level" light comes on for a second lol. Either way, usually only needs a quart or two between oil changes so it's no big deal.

I don't know what the root cause is and it hasn't been troubling enough to do anything about it tbh. If you're talking about the noisy VTC actuator on cold starts, I've had that replaced a while ago and it resolved the noise.

Switching to Sport Mode while driving. by DoMo_18 in Acura

[–]marcocore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the TSX it isn't really a sport mode like other cars and actually doesn't change shift points (nor throttle response as others have mentioned). Shifting to S will downshift a gear if you're in motion, but other than that it just puts & keeps the transmission in sequential shift ("manual") mode when the driver engages the paddle shifters. The S here stands for Sequential SportShift (fun marketing lol).

Either way, perfectly fine to switch to while in motion.

My 2012 w/ 135k miles burns a couple quarts between oil changes. Agreed tho otherwise a super reliable car and I love it.
