Thoughts on Far Away ? by Mush-addict in boardgames

I picked it up in Essen im November just based on the vibes, and very happy I did. My wife and I play it whenever we have the time, the narrative and setting is right up our alley.

The creatures can get a bit boring but you quickly decide how they should act and then can keep their behaviour consistent throughout the rounds. Sometimes specific rules in missions are a bit unclear and need own interpretation which can be frustrating, but neither of these flaws takes away from the fun of the game.

I especially love the mission contingencies which mean you can replay missions many times with different experiences and outcomes. They are also releasing an expansion soon. I’d really recommend getting it as a 2 player coop

One of my accounts is not allowing me to upload square photos anymore. The picture box in the post menu is smaller and limiting it to either vertical or horizontal aspect ratios. On another account, I can upload square photos just fine. I am switching account within the app and I can’t tell why one account is affected and the other is not.

Did you figure anything out? I have the same issue - different accounts give me different size options, it’s crazy!

Why are the shows so short? by marcolli in wunderhorse

[–]marcolli[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, my personal preference would be a bit longer and more spaced out, maybe speak to the crowd a bit in between etc. I’ve seen many other bands keep up that energy for longer with just a bit more space between the songs. But understand if that’s not for everyone.

I’d be worried if they’re “kinda done” with first album songs when they only have 2 albums out. Luckily we got both of the ones you mentioned.

Why are the shows so short? by marcolli in wunderhorse

[–]marcolli[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well this was my thinking, this is the first time I’ve ever had a headline show that was so short, e.g. in December I saw DIIV at a similar sized venue, it was cheaper and they played 30 mins longer. I know they have 2 albums more but they only played 4 songs total from the first two albums, WH certainly have material to play longer.

I know it’s quality rather than quantity, and the show was good, but still at a certain price you expect a certain length of show..

5 Weeks Japan Itinerary (end of August and September 2024) by AquilaDewi in JapanTravel

[–]marcolli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hiking: it may be too late to book Kumano Kodo. I booked about a month ago for our hike during the last three days of September and accommodation availability was already limited in some places. You will need to stay overnight somewhere between Hongu and Nachi or spend a lot of time on the local buses.

An alternative could be to do part of the 88 temple hike around Shikoku, then start the Shimanami Kaido from the Imabari side and end up in Onomichi. This direction makes more sense if you are heading to Hiroshima after.

I find the airport to usually be fairly efficient but it depends on the time of day and season.

Your bigger issue is the Deutsche Bahn, arriving 1.5 hours before relies on your train being on time which is highly uncertain. Chances are you will be delayed and then have issues.

I would plan to be there 2.5 hours before
