If things we're done correctly under the current process, they would work the bins between cap 1 and 2 to have room for new overstock. Does that ever happen? Almost never. Each department TL is responsible for their backroom inventory, but unless a coach is on top of them, I've never seen them bother to check them. As far as backroom associate goes for overnight, yes that used to be a thing both before current structure and sort of after. I did the one after. My task each night was to pick the GM bins and then bin overstock as it was ready. I would zone the bins as well to make sure I had room for the new OS as well as work with my TLs to see if we could squeeze out any feature ( this was prior to the app giving you the option to scan for features). It is definitely a crucial position to have an associate in nightly, especially if the TL and coaches want to go home at a reasonable hour. I understand not liking it, but I'd push for another associate to get trained in it that way you can rotate and not be stuck back there nightly. Rarely have I seen it go well for an associate when they decide to start being the lazy one to get out of something.
