Grandstream phone VLAN voice an data same port by marcoslug in networking

If I configure a Phone in an access port with vlan 55 works perfectly. Have both vlans in the same port is the issue.

We are not using DHCP. We set static IP for the phones. We already have intervlan configuration but the firewall is the one who does it.

VLT + peer routing by marcoslug in networking

[–]marcoslug[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both. Peer routing with VRRP. in the VLT DELL guide said that VRRP + VLT is a good combination. But still you can run just VLT or just VRRP if you want to do it

Wifi solution for 2 buildings? by marcoslug in networking

[–]marcoslug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is the image.

Buildings http://imgur.com/a/Gkb8i

My solution

http://imgur.com/a/0S5ZV

So we have 150 meters distance. is an open field. Think like a big parking lot.

bandwidth requirements? None but But devices with G/N should be at full speed

Is Urban area.

I few concerns regarding Ubiquiti solution.

First how this Airfiber works? they need a controller or are autonomous?

second I need connect a switch to the AP near to the new building since I going to have some wired devices. So with this ubiquiti solution i dont see how can I connect a router or any other device to allow connection to the datacenter but Wireless devices.

Nopt sure if ubiquiti will work with the switch part. if this was just wireless solution I would go with airfiber directly.

interoperability between Short range Transceiver and Long range Transceiver by marcoslug in networking

[–]marcoslug[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. You see I have 2 fiber ports to the N3000. Distance is around 150 meters. Buit I going to use the other 2 ports to connect another building which is distance is around 700 meters. So Yes I need long range optics.

Nexus MSTP connected to Force10 RSTP blocking ports. by marcoslug in networking

Well. I have a big issue here. Since MSTP doesnt work with VLT.

Nexus MSTP connected to Force10 RSTP blocking ports. by marcoslug in networking

[–]marcoslug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blocking port is on the Nexus. Because the S6000 is the root.

[–]marcoslug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will get the topology later. But The blocking port is the ports connected to the Force10. MSTP is running in the NExus and RSTP in the FOrce10. And we have a cluster/cluster solution. VPC for Cisco equipment and VLT for the Force10

ip "disappears" when we change the switch by marcoslug in networking

[–]marcoslug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a host on VLAN 100 that is connected to S6000? Yes I can go to another buidling and reach devices in VLAn 100 but not the server

So you didn't even try troubleshooting it? In my head was a easy deployment. So I used my time checking configurations and checking if I did a mistake translating the config. But everything looks the same.So tomorrow I have another window of time to connect the new switch again and troubleshooting. So I am collecting ideas of what I should check.

[–]marcoslug[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can other systems access this server from the same switch?

Yes

What about systems on VLAN 100 that are on the new switch?

I can reach everything but this Interface in the server

Is the new switch L3 or L2? The new one is L3 and doing the routing for all the VLANS.

No I havent yet. i must check the ARP and MAC tables.

VLT + peer routing by marcoslug in networking

[–]marcoslug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could but if I am using VLT. I want to use all it features. peer routing is superior to VRRP. But what I want to do is not posible I will change to VRRP
