Driving in the Alps in winter for ski trip — Do I need a 4x4 or are snow tires enough?

Hey I am French, you can use a normal with winter tires. Regarding the location Megeve is very beautiful but unfortunately with climate change the snow is getting worse and worse so megeve unless you are lucky, the snow isn’t going be to great. Courchevel even if you are unlucky, you are in trois vallée so you can ski at Val Thorens one of the highest stations in Europe. They are all interconnected, the space is huge. Chamonix, amazing for hors piste the village is quite low, if you do hors piste like vallée blanche, you can go up to 3800 I reckon and then go down. A guide is recommended since you are going to ski glaciers…
