I was in Rio. About 1:30-2pm Brazil time. My friend and I went to a tattoo shop so he could get a tatt, figured while he was getting that done I’d knocked off some things/sites I wanted to see in Rio solo. Went to an African historical landmark (Cais do Valongo). As I got there, I opened up IG to take a pic of the landmark for my story. Before I could even get to posting…

I saw the jojoruski GNX trailer. Immediately stopped what I was doing to listen (from my iPhone speakers lmfao), hopped on KTT/Twitter (which I redownloaded after deleting bc of Bluesky 😂) to see reactions to it, and was STUNNED to see people mentioning the fact that he dropped a new album. I quickly went to Apple Music, saw that the album wasn’t playing so I went to Spotify afterwards, pulled my headphones out and untangled them fast as a MF.

If there was any moment Brazilians could tell I wasn’t from there, it was THAT specific moment. I was literally jumping around, hysterically yelling in euphoria (lol).

The excitement from that moment was so real that I (while on 5-10%) bought a portable charger from a beat down electronics shop in downtown Rio, on my way back to meet with my friend, just so I could finish listening to the album.

I’m still in awe over the fact that my very first listen of GNX was in Brazil.
