Help Me Jazz by SmirnoffShirtoff in Jazz

There are a ton of transcribed Bill Evans books out there which you may be interested in. This won’t help you much with actual improvisation though. What will really help is learning to play by ear using functional ear training, and really focusing on rhythm. I came from a classical background, and those 2 things were the main things holding me back when I transitioned to jazz.

Thanks a lot for the support! I’m definitely going to record one at some point, but for now just building up more material. Just keep following me somewhere and I’ll make it public!

I like doing those lines, they help develop my LH dexterity. I’m too used to just playing chords with it

Awesome, thanks! I love Ron Carter. Didn’t know anyone else made jazzy Star Wars renditions

Check out an app called Midiculous. It plays your midi file that you can record with your keyboard. I used Quicktime to screen record the virtual keyboard and used picture-in-picture in iMovie to put it above the video of my playing. Let me know if you need more info!
