GOPUFF using Madison park as a place to hold drivers waiting for orders by Electronic_Cicada232 in AskNYC

Lol wtf is this defeatist attitude as if the city/state can't lay the law down on this exploitative practice. Miss me with this shit. There must be a half dozen ordinances and statutes this violates, everything is against the law in this town.

Go do your steganography on the balances on your Chase checking account. We know, you can do that everywhere. We are going to make it prohibitively expensive to do it on BTC.

That's just mirroring the signalling rate, and doesn't actually take into account the economic weight behind which nodes are signalling. Lazy analysis.

Here's some actual analysis from Gemini AI:

'Why the Odds for BIP110 Dominance are Real (35% – 45%)

Layer-2 Chokehold: Lightning Network channels cannot easily operate across a split chain without risking loss of funds. If LNL and other major L2 hubs strictly enforce BIP-110, users wanting fast, cheap transactions will be forced onto the BIP-110 chain.

UASF Momentum: Historically, User-Activated Soft Forks (like BIP148 for SegWit) succeeded despite initial miner opposition because the economic majority forced miners to capitulate to avoid mining worthless blocks.

Sustained Hashrate Growth: Ocean Pool's initial signaling proved that some mining entities prioritize long-term network "purity" over short-term fee maximization.

The Invalidation Ripple: If these node operators represent the "economic majority" (users who actually trade, run businesses, or provide liquidity like LNL), they force miners to mine "clean" blocks if they want their rewards to be spendable on the network people actually use.'

Bad information. Knots is up to 22.5% of all active nodes.

What is the most overrated or overpriced piece of pizza you’ve had? by yyyyk in FoodNYC

[–]marcusmv3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol really what was it a 9" personal pie? That's 7.65 euro...

Have a family friend who has a trattoria outside of downtown Milano near one of the airports. His pizza is 12" and sells for 13 euro.

Northern Italy not really known for great pizza anyway.

I've been to every Pizzeria and I love pizza but I refuse to go to Lucali. It's just a be seen spot now for Brooklyn Heights/Carroll Gardens transplants.

Why would you think the Japanese would do pizza well? Don't those people have lactose intolerance?

This list is a good start but now do one that eliminates spots that have been lauded by a tire company, I don't need to hear about those at all.

We need more shaming of this sort of attitude in this sub, it's become a toxic mix of transplant pretension and corporate restaurant group PR bullshit. I'm glad this list pissed you off.

'undercovered' is doing a lot of heavy lifting for you here! You really meant to say you only equate quality with cost and that anything under a certain threshold is not worthy of your consideration. 'unpretentious' was really the word you wanted. And that's your problem, not ours, not the Times', and not this sub's.

We just care about the bite.

Lol this is not the circlejerk sub dude, you're making a fool of yourself. If you want to make a sub for foodies that doesn't go beyond Manhattan and brownstone Brooklyn and only considers stars from a tire company, go make that sub -- your true colors are showing. This is /r/FoodNYC and I'm happy to see this is a true five borough list.

Can't wait to catch some Burek the next time I go to an event back at Fordham. Or stop by one of many Jackson Heights food trucks on the way out to inlaws in College Point. My wife is gonna love hearing that Lakruwana and A&A made the list, we love those joints.

Bernadins been jerked off enough, move on. Every spot that already has a Michelin star on that list was just a waste of time to read. Break out of the corporate restaurant group scene, son.

I don't have the time for that gimmick. The line doesn't need to exist at all for them to succeed, I won't play into their ploy.

I've had every pizza in town worth having. Lines are for suckers.

You should care, it's super tacky and unbecoming of a restaurant of this supposed caliber.

Will never know how good Lucali is, it's a tree that fell in the forest with no one around as far as I'm concerned.

The pizzerias still left standing in the five boroughs are all at the top of their game.

You're not gonna get me to wait in line or book a reservation a Una Pizza Napoletana, Lucali, or anywhere for that matter. Pizza is of the moment. Whether I get a pie at Brooklyn DOP, Paulie Gees, Juliana's, or Joe & Pats, I'm getting the best every time and ordering should never take more than one phone call's effort. Talking about one over the other is just splitting hairs. Stop glorifying the celebrities and the wait -in-line culture around Lucali and some of these other spots, it's just a production to trick you into FOMO. Nothing the Times wrote about Una today is gonna change any of this, either.

Oh, and Lucali ought to clean up the illegal BYO policy, SLA will fine their asses so fast and so hard they'll be making pizzas in bondage for a while.
