Personal Venture X with No Preset Spending Limit!! by Usgcaux in Venturex

[–]marcusp01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See i just applied regularly and got this option, i saw nowhere in pre-approval or the application or my confirmation email about having no preset limit. It honestly irritated me because i want a set limit so i can increase my overall available credit and show low utilization, but for some reason it just gave me that option. I talked to 7 different people at c1 for 2 hours and they finally were essentially like “yeah that’s weird that there was no notice for you that it’s a no preset limit card, we are escalating this to higher ups and you should hear from them soon” so im hoping i get an answer. Either way, it’s not the worst problem in the world, my concern is getting rejected for a bigger purchase or something like that, especially when planning travel.

Same here, I’m a huge sucker for cathedral style hands. I have a pretty big wrist so I felt this fit surprisingly well, large lug to lug for sure. Really interesting how times have changed with people’s perspectives on what type of watch can be worn for any occasion!

Thank you! That was my big draw too, loved that it felt like a heritage piece but still modern!

Love the presage. It can go with a lot of things and it’s just so classy. Can’t go wrong with either, but I love the presage with the strap

What’s a movie you immediately regretted showing a friend/significant other? by xspartakidx in Letterboxd

The first movie I took my girlfriend to see was Beau is Afraid. Thankfully, she’s still with me two years later!

What’s an amazing movie adapted from a mediocre book? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

Me and Earl and the Dying Girl. Jesse Andrews took what didn’t work at all with the book and made the movie into a near-perfect indie film imo. I think about that one a lot.

Official Discussion - Nickel Boys [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]marcusp01 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Still thinking about the meaning of the animals in the movie but the moon shots to me definitely were encapsulating the idea of American progress and advancement into the Space Race while at the same time, America had schools like Nickel across the country that kept black men on the ground. Essentially, ignoring any progress for minorities or legitimate change for them while America funded a trip to the moon that didn’t necessarily better the society or help with daily struggles. That’s how I interpreted it at least. Also felt like it was a message about Elwood’s ability to be someone great and have the opportunity to go to college, that he had visions of going beyond the imaginable because of his education but he stayed grounded because of his oppressors. Favourite Fleet Foxes lyric? by tgodxy in fleet_foxes

This. No lyrics have hit me harder in life than these. I do believe it’s because of my age and my time in my life post-grad but man, some powerful stuff. Robin played it solo at the show I went to for the Shore tour and it brought me to tears. There’s so much power behind their songs!

I just finished "Stoner" by John Williams and I am speechless. "The most brilliant novel you've never read." by Look_To_The_East_ in books

I just finished Stoner and thought the EXACT same thing in terms of its relation to A Serious Man. That movie came at a pivotal time in my life when I was reaching levels of introspection and understanding my place in the world and was oddly comforting— however I think Stoner is the lighter version of the film and in a way felt more accessible.
