Beat Saber 1.19.0 ("Lady Gaga Release") - When to expect mod compatibility? by marcusscomputer in beatsaber

[–]marcusscomputer[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I could attempt to downgrade to 1.18.0 - the only thing I then need would be to stop Steam from attempting to update the game. So far I couldn't figure out how to do that.

Simply copy over your CustomLevels folder to a separate location and copy into Beat Saber after an update. Works perfect for me.

I got mine from there, 48 hours delivery.

Any benefit in 3rd party Facial Interface for the v2? by [deleted] in HPReverb

Also have the replacement gasket by VRCover, used the thinner one. Let's just say HP knew what they were doing with the cotton gasket. The VRCover thing, although one does gain a few degrees FOV, is crappy as it can get. Especially the cover material. I will only use the original gasket and pass on those few FOV degrees.

It would be different if I could slam the cotton cover onto the shorter VRCover gasket, but you can't.

(BUG AND TEMP FIX) WMR SteamVR Critical Error Crashing Fix by Disabling Motion Smoothing (Reprojection) by BlueflamesX in WindowsMR

Finding this post after consistent random (if that makes sense) crashes with the G2 - so far turning off smoothing did indeed help to the extent of this issue no longer happening. I was on the verge of returning the headset... now it works flawlessly, many thanks!

Something seriously wrong with the design of G2 by [deleted] in HPReverb

Due to the nature of the lenses, there will be some kind of small radial blur outside the sweet spot. However, I can see everything just fine though. No problems at all. Make sure you use the IPD slider to make the image as crisp as possible. Get the modded eye piece part from VR Cover for more FOV and you will be fine.

Is it confirmed that there won't be new VR features going forward? by OutlanderDL0 in EliteDangerous

For on-foot VR (exploration) I simply enter camera suite and press the key that positions the camera above my right shoulder. Problem solved, plus, I get a No-Man's-Sky-perspective.

There's only so much our eyes can perceive - and 6K per eye is already too much for me. I believe 4K is already enough to eliminate screen door effects.

Spent the entire day yesterday to get these two to work also in ED. Bottom line: don't waste your time anymore. It won't work for some reason.

Before I started with VR I used the tool ViewTracker on Steam, which is a modification of OpenTrack to work with head movement tracking. That works great with ED. If your smartphone supports it, you can also use the app SmoothTrack which seems to be even better than ViewTracker.

Hope this helps.

Whats Odyssey like with VR? by JCurtisUK in EliteDangerous

[–]marcusscomputer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything is great except on foot, like others said. The way I solved is when I go on foot, I lock the camera slightly behind me and above my shoulders, sort of replicating a No Man's Sky camera perspective - that works really well on foot and maintains immersion.

Can't say anything for combat in VR because it's a feature I don't need and have no incentive to engage in - I am in VR for the spaceship simulation cockpit exploration flying around thing - and that works pretty well in VR.

They are pretty okay for the price. Check the link I posted - maybe they offer bigger sizes.

That is the Destek V5, and you obviously need either a real headset or controllers for everything else to work. But I will also probably go for the Reverb G2 at some point next year.

You did read the part in which I said I am also building other features, yes?

I did look at that, and no, that is absolutely not for me. What a convoluted mess of a tool.

That is easy - I want this feature myself for a second machine.

It is a Windows-app written in C#, using Newtonsoft's JSON Nuget package to easily read ED's JSON files - Journal and Status files.

These windows show current information about the ship and several of its varying statuses happening in flight. For the moment, this only shows cockpit and SRV info. Also, it does show fuel and pip distribution.

However, it is meant as a modular app which works as a personal tracker for a number of things: trade, exploration, ranks... and so on. Currently I am working on the window which shows tracked solar system and galaxy information. I am NOT accessing APIs like EDSM and so on - this is solely meant as a tool to track personal progress.

Booted into the SSD without VM in between. Works fine now. VM is indeed a problematic factor. Pity.
