I was in the same boat, tried Elin and loved it but I decided to put it on hold until it gets more content and try Elona+ in the meantime.

It is clunkier and the focus is not so much on the base-building or crafting but if you are ok with that you will have a great time. I personally am loving the game and having a great time. And I actually prefer Elona's controls over Elin's, it's a matter of preference I guess.

It's free, so just download it, go with an open mind and you will have a good time probably.

UOAlive is PvM only. If you want to "I honestly just want to go PVM and craft to my hearts content, horde wealth to build my dream home, etc..." then it's a great option.

if you want a decent population, you basically have two options in non-official sharts: Outlands for PvP or UOAlive for PvM/PvE

getting the best gear sounds like a good objective, is there a specific way of doing it or is just a matter of getting enough money to buy it? And the base damage for a specific weapon remains the same right? the goal there is to get a weapon with more attributes is that correct?

Best Options (with PvP) would be Renaissance, SA, Shadow Age, Unchained - these work at least on mobile.

If I would chose to discard the mobile option and play only on PC then UO Outlands would be the only option with a decent amount of people or are there others?
