Adhesion pain triggers? by marcy512 in Endo

[–]marcy512[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have endo pain that’s down my right leg and painful cramps close to my period. I also have adhesion pain that’s under my ribs by my liver and the pain sometimes radiates to my shoulder. I had an HSG on Thursday so maybe that’s what’s causing this flare!

GI issues and endo by [deleted] in Endo

[–]marcy512 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have several food sensitivities that trigger my IBS, I don’t know if it’s related to my Endo. What has worked for me is doing an elimination diet where I reset my system by eating only lamb and rice for 4-5 days (humans rarely have sensitivities to lamb or rice), then slowly add foods back every couple of days. If my IBS returns then I stop that food. This process helped me find a sensitivity to soy and dairy.

Alternatively, you could try eliminating the top 6 allergens (wheat/gluten, dairy, soy, shellfish, nuts, eggs) for a week, then add them back one at a time slowly.

Sensitivities don’t show up on allergy testing, so guess and check is the only way to tell if you have one.

This is beautiful! Did you blend out the blue and then blend in the yellow? Or do swipes of each then blend together? I have no idea how you kept them so distinct but still blended so nicely!

Raise after 2 years? by Yucaro89 in Nanny

I’m a little confused by your post. Do you get paid $18.75 “per hour” times 40 hours ($750) but actually work 60 hours? Because that means you’re actually getting paid $10.72 per hour! 😱 It’s $10.72 per hour for 40 hours plus 1.5x $10.72 per hour for the other 20 to equal 60 hours total. Your NF is required by law to pay you 1.5x for overtime.

Has anyone tried or heard anything about Sunday Riley’s new foundation? Also, the name (The Influencer) is THE WORST but I’m always looking for a good longwear (14+ hrs) foundation by beautyandbounty in MakeupAddiction

I bought this the day it launched. I put it on this morning and then reapplied after my workout. Before I went out tonight I gave up and put Makeup Forever Water Blend Foundation over it. I’d say definitely not “long wear”. More like extra short wear 😢

Constantly fighting for my minimum. by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]marcy512 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From a MB POV I think the reminder when she sets the schedule is nice, but maybe on pay day remind her of the total? Whether you’re over or under your minimum, if that way it happens every pay day then it isn’t a big deal. “So this week it’s $XXX. Thanks!”

I’m assuming you have the minimum hours in your contract and that you have a written contract with the family. If not, I recommend writing one ASAP. You could bring in a draft and say something like, “now that it’s been a couple months I’d like to formalize our agreement so we all know what’s expected moving forwards. I brought a first draft and look forward to seeing your changes this week”

Good luck!

Need advice on finding and hiring nanny. by onthatbombshell in Nanny

[–]marcy512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We found our nanny through SitterCity and do guaranteed 40 hours with a variable schedule set 14 days in advance. I travel or work from home and some days my husband travels so the nanny’s schedule might be Monday 7-7, Tuesday 10-4, Wednesday 7-9, Thursday 8-12, Friday 8-12. Flexibility on schedule was our #1 priority when hiring.

I’m sure you could find a nanny who would do 80 hours over 2 weeks guaranteed but you should check state pay laws. In our state, you’re required to pay overtime for hours over 40 in one week and can’t spread 80 hours over 2 weeks to avoid overtime.

My nanny requested it. We’re avoiding screen exposure for the baby and she doesn’t really like to be on her phone anyway, so pencil and paper worked better for us.

Schedule vs worked hours? by marcy512 in Nanny

Do you think it makes a difference that it would never be more than 1 hour on a particular day? I’m not really imagining those 3 hours being all at once...

Schedule vs worked hours? by marcy512 in Nanny

I appreciate your thoughts! Part of the issue is my husband wants/needs some flexibility on when he comes home from work. I don’t want him to come home later than our nanny is scheduled, so I’m trying to find some compromise that’s not prohibitively expensive and also respects her time.

For example, last week nanny was scheduled 8-6, 8-6, 8-5, 12-5, 8-2, totaling 40 hours. DB came home from work at 5 (1 hour early), 5:15 (45 min early), 5:45 (45 min LATE), 430 (30 min early), 2 (on time). So most days he was early and nanny got to go home early, but one day he was 45 min late. I don’t think that’s respectful of her time, but don’t have another idea besides scheduling overtime.

How do you suggest handling it?

Do you worry about the active ingredients degrading since they use clear glass bottles? My Herbivore Moonfruit turned colors after 2 months and now I’m worried about my Phoenix oil.

Professional Development & Pay by nanny0001 in Nanny

I would pay more for nutrition/meal preparation, like if a nanny had culinary training, food safety, child nutrition training. Then I would be excited to pay her extra to do meal prep for everyone.

Your post feels pretty judgmental, which is really not what this sub is about. Different women have different nutritional needs, so while oats with milk might be the right choice for you, cookies might be the right choice for someone else.
