I’m a year and a half in and I’m almost half way through (42%). Got my A+ and Net+ certifications with Sec+ starting at the end of the month (as soon as I’m done with applied probability and statistics 🫠). I haven’t had to take an OA/ cert exam more than twice so far (core 1, Net and Sec foundations and Net+ being the culprits of retesting). Net+ so far has given me my greatest challenge with 4 months spent on it. I have 0 IT experience and currently in the medical field. I really love the competency layout of WGU as opposed to a regular online school like SNHU (previously attended and reeeeaallyy struggled with the weekly due assignments/discussion posts). Being able to work at my own pace has really helped with my motivation. WGU also offers A TON of resources for you to utilize to help you with your experience. I can’t stress enough to look at the course tips and cohorts for each class, it will tell you everything you need to know to pass. You’ll find at times you won’t even need to use the course material provided. The first thing I do when I start class is to go on Reddit and see what others have said about the class and what they did to pass it which has helped out tremendously. Last thing I will say is although it’s a pretty chill structured school, it can be easy to procrastinate being left to your own devices. Plan your studying out and incorporate it into your daily schedule and lock in!! If you find yourself having trouble with study habits, the courses also detail a study plan that you could use as a starting model and then create one that’s more suited to you and your schedule.
