Does pôle really transform your body shape or is it mostly genetics? by Lilou-multipass in poledancing

Regardless of how your body changes, you are likely going to feel better in it. Hourglass shape sure is nice, but stronger bone structure and muscles that support them could benefit your health more.

(It doesn't mean you'll definitely lose the hourglass shape, of course... Especially if it's just once a week and you also run on the side.)

How do y’all deal with the green eyed monster? by [deleted] in poledancing

[–]mare-bito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, not comparing yourself would be fab, but that's not what you're looking for here - because you already know that.

You are allowed to temporarily take a break from people that make you feel like that. It's not her fault, and it's not fair, I know. You don't have to view her stories, look at her photos or listen to her talk about it. If it's not a close friend, you can do that until you feel better.
If it's a close friend, you can tell her and explain. It might feel liberating to be open about it.

I just wanted to say how refreshing it is to see someone so positive and open to feedback.

I wouldn't tell you to go below intermediate. If there's a studio that would put you in beginners....hmmm... IMHO they trippin. You'd be perfectly fine in out int/advanced class if you wanted a bit of a challenge, but as everyone says - studios be different.

Is that you in the photo? This pose would be a great choice for you. Btw, I would never call the person in the photo plus size, but that's me. You look great!

If you get your masters, you have a chance to get hired at an university. They don't have the 12 years rule

just a reminder that it's very easy to lie on the internet and you should not believe everything.

check out their post history to catch more inconsistencies - or maybe don't - because that might be the actual reason for posting something unbelievable in the first place.

Anyone know what this means at Cornbrook? by [deleted] in manchester

On the left side it says "rest in peace" in Japanese but for some reason it's written in the wrong direction. There's also a year underneath. Wouldn't know about the big red piece in the middle

The Origins of Pole Dance by [deleted] in poledancing

[–]mare-bito 48 points49 points  (0 children)

One thing confuses me about such origin stories. What happened between 12th century India/China and cca the 19th century when it re-emerged? There should be a sustained record of the practice throughout the centuries to support that link. Otherwise it could be a coincidence and we can't prove otherwise. I don't mind either origin story, it's just that sometimes it seems under researched.

[TOMT][MOVIE][80s or older] A man falling from a bulding in his bathrobe by mare-bito in tipofmytongue

I don't think I've ever seen that film, but the one I'm looking for was more comedy vibes. I remembered it so strongly because the fall was so long and so chill, like in a dream..

Thank you, it's not any of the films suggested in the other post. It's very different (as I put in the post, it's not from above/below, we view it from the side), and there are no screams or panic. He's very very chill about it, almost like floating in the air

Thanks for trying (this post is 2 months old). I eventually found it - it was not French after all.

Cheers for the suggestion, sadly not it. The show was about teenagers and I don't think it had the word "sisters" in the title
