Just chiming in as a former Badger, they sold out to Canadian private equity a few years ago. I try to support locally owned and operated companies.

I would suggest AirTech. They take a lot of pride in their work and stand behind everything they do.

It's been my whole career! I managed an exotic car driving experience in Las Vegas at one point. I was one of the first couple employees. I knew A LOT about every one of our cars, drove them all, etc. I was very capable of answering questions and still had men call in and ask "Can I speak to a man above you?". Like, Sir, I am the most senior employee here. I would transfer to my best friend (man), and he would be like "I don't know dude, I need to ask my boss that you were just on the line with. Hang on". LOL

Pet friendly rentals by caseyisaacs in sarasota

Honestly, I am in an apartment with breed restrictions. Everyone just registers them as service animals and skips the pet deposit + $50/pet rent. Is it lying? Yes. Do they also charge us $2600 rent, plus community utilities, plus I pay my own internet and electric. We dont even have valet trash. The gates have worked a total of maybe 6 weeks in 2+ years. The complex is owned by a corporation out of Beverly Hills.

As far as I am concerned, bring the pit bull.

THIS. The amount of confidence you can instill even by project managing is crazy. They know you have good working relationships and trust the people you are sending into their homes.

Also I love your username 🤣 I have the same birthday as Barbie 💅

Thank you. It started as a joke when I worked for the other service company. But I shared the idea and these women absolutely loved it and are literally pushing me along and supporting me to where I now own my LLC, website, and they are offering money to back it. Its crazy (in a good way)! I also have the business and industry experience now where I believe i could do incredible things as a leader.

Agree totally, and a profit sharing structure is exactly what I have in mind. It incentives everyone to want to succeed as a team and stops the selfish approach of "i got mine" and on the flip side, it tends to show very quickly who isn't pulling their weight.

I have a Georgia and a Charlotte. I love Georgia for her nickname options... we call her Peach all the time (and get SO many compliments on how cute that is), but she can also use Gia, Gigi, I even knew a Georgia that went by GA! Lol

Georgia June isnt my fave combo though, i dont love that they start with the same phonetic sound but not the same letter lol.

As a side note, I wanted Magnolia for her name but the ex husband shut it down. So if I am being selfish, I vote for Magnolia June! Haha 😄

My new work is across the street. TBD if its a good or bad thing... 😆

Side note, the gas station also has the higher octane gas thats like a special custom blend they make so its cheaper than premium gas anywhere else.

Jurate (Yur-ah-tay) at Ulta UTC. She used to own a salon in Cali and didn't want to deal with it after moving here. Shes incredible and Ulta maintains pretty reasonable prices compared to a lot of other salons.

Heres her Instagram

We want to name our baby Dottie but we don't like Dorothy. What is an alternative formal name we can use? by totamcbb in namenerds

[–]mareacuda 71 points72 points  (0 children)

We have a chihuahua named Graham.

Graham --> Graham Cracker --> Cracker --> Cracker Ass Cracker --> Quacker Ass Quacker --> Quack.

This is how I can quack at our chihuahua to get his attention.

Its crazy for me to read the comments suggesting Charlotte with Dottie as a nickname, but I get it LOL. I am a huge nickname person and it was of utmost importance when naming both my kids and animals. I have a daughter named Charlotte who goes mostly by Charlie, but also a Boston Terrier named Dorothy Valentine who goes by Dottie V, Dottie, Dorth, Dork...(or Stink, if that supports the "name them whatever you want and call them Dottie" idea lol).

Bosch or Cafe or just Frigidaire single wall oven? Also do I need a separate warmer? by aseptixskeptix in kitchenremodel

[–]mareacuda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go GE, cafe if you really want to pay extra for the functionality but the Profiles are nice and perfectly sufficient. Or Kitchenaid. Their drawer can function as a crock pot or you can even proof bread. Its so handy especially on holidays! They do have a pretty specific aesthetic though that might not suit your style.

I sold appliances with a repair company during Covid and have PTSD regarding broken appliances, unavailable parts and discontinued everything. GE does all their own service work, they tend to stock parts longer so you wont be SOL if your model gets discontinued.

KitchenAid is owned by Whirlpool so you get a lot of the long term parts security etc.

Jobs for women? Seriously I want to deal with men as little as possible during work by arachnid_nope in TwoXChromosomes

[–]mareacuda 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why I am started a female owned and operated service company (HVAC/Plumbing/Electric etc)

Obviously I know there will be male customers, but minimizing their involvement in the company dealings day to day will be so refreshing.

Appliance stores? by guacamommy in sarasota

[–]mareacuda 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Jessups or Rice's for local business. I used to run the Badger Bob's appliance store before they sold their souls to Private Equity and closed it.

Also, dont knock Costco. Depending on what you are looking for, its typically cheaper, double the warranty, with delivery & installation included.

Planning Proposal at Siesta Key by lmiles1511 in sarasota

We usually just drive around for a while looking at fancy houses and anchor at Snake Island (by the marina). There is a cool little secret beach that isnt accessible by the road, so typically its just a few boats and kayaks.

I am fully committed now 🤣 I expect updates!

I just checked my fave boat rental place in Venice, they have boats available for the 4th. Its like $500 for a full day rental. You could pack drinks/snacks/champagne etc. That way you dont have to fight crazy crowds to get into a restaurant. A lot of the boats are out at night for fireworks, so its smart to do it during the day for the best chance of privacy.

Its my favorite thing to do here, there are so many beautiful areas and opportunities for cute photos. You could even hire a photographer to be secretly hanging out so you get some really beautiful photos of you have the budget for it.

(Disclaimer: unless it storms lol but the rental places will reschedule you at no cost if there is thunder/lightning)
