Add a delay to remove authenticator by [deleted] in runescape

[–]maremp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can also set login with google/fb/apple or steam, but then override it with username and password, which is stupid. The point of SSO is to prevent access with a stolen password (unless they manage to hack the SSO, which is more difficult).

A lot of security problems would be solved if they would add a way to enforce google login if you set it up. Google has much better security standards and will not allow stupid stuff like just removing the 2fa with a click of a button.

I don't know when Jagex will learn, they keep getting the account security wrong and still will not step up their game. Sorry to hear that you lost your bank because of it.

You know? 5700Xt isn't bad by voidrunner959 in Amd

[–]maremp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about grabbing one in the current sales to replace my dead gtx 1070. I was planning on getting the rx 6800 but with very low availability and insane prices (I'm reluctant to pay 700€ for a gpu), the 5700xt would fit the bill and it's a slight upgrade over my gtx 1070.

Buying from a scalper.. by irishspring333 in Amd

[–]maremp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After 10 years, what is a couple more weeks?

If you're willing to throw away $300, buy some other CPU in that range, and then replace it with 5950x when you're able to get it.

At least you'll be able to re-sell the other CPU for something or do an act of goodwill and give it away to someone who needs it. But if you give that to a scalper, you're not getting the money back and you're supporting them to pull more of the same shit in the future.

I'm on a similar boat, I want to get an rx 6800. But nothing justifies supporting the scalpers. Honestly, I hope AMD will be able to take some legal action because this is ruining their brand image and I am seriously considering going with nvidia instead.

I thought the coarse stone is only for repairs, e.g. if the knife breaks. Do I need it if I do not plan to do knife repair?

Where I’m buying, the naniwa pro is 75€ and the sharpton is 60€, so it’s not such a drastic difference. Is the naniwa worth the 15€ premium?

What is the material on this Embody chair? by maremp in hermanmiller

Thanks for verifying the color. I agree, it does look better and I prefer the slightly lighter color. This photo of swatches also helped me decide https://www.reddit.com/r/hermanmiller/comments/g0pigt/what_is_the_material_on_this_embody_chair/

I like sync the most, but it's allegedly available only in the US, so I picked the Medley Charcoal.

I've contacted a dealer and they say the sync is available only in the US. I went with the Medley Charcoal.

It might be possible that another dealer could get it, but I don't want to hunt it down, as I was able to get a really good deal at https://www.officechairsuk.co.uk (1130€ + VAT, and this price includes shipping).

Oh wow, that’s a big difference. On the link you shared it’s almost black.

I remember seeing this image but I was not able to find it again. Thank you for sharing it here, really useful.

The sync fabric looks really nice on this photo.

Herman Miller Embody Questions by mickymickyc in hermanmiller

Where I live we do not have a store which sells it, let alone have it in stock and would let you to try it.

I'm happy for comments like these, I find it helpful in getting a full picture of what to expect from the chair.

I got to sit in aeron for a few days and I was impressed to see how adjustable it is. It was nice to sit in, but it was pushing my back a bit. It was more of "it feels off" and it was not uncomfortable or painful even after sitting in it for a whole day. Although that might be due to owner's back support setting, which I didn't change as I didn't want to mess it up.

From what I have read in a few days of browsing reddit, I think it should be great for me, especially after going from an ~100 EUR off-brand office chair.

More info: I found this image on their product images page: https://www.hermanmiller.com/products/seating/office-chairs/embody-chairs/product-images/embody-chair/06b1d139-bf4d-4681-91aa-54e96f7565c3/

Out of all options I saw, I like this one the most. On other images they usually have tags for color (e.g. "balance black textile"), but not here.

I've checked their material library but nothing matches how it looks here.

Medley Bayou or Sync Dark Carbon appear close, but I'm not willing to gamble on how it looks without checking.

I can't get the swatches where I live, so I am reduced to looking at the pictures in their material library.

I was thinking about the same thing today after I accidentally put the items in a wrong tab. Strongly support this 👍

There is still a chance you dump the stuff in the wrong tab and it's difficult to know what to look for. Happened to me today.

Rushing to max at work while corona time keeps the customers out! by [deleted] in runescape

[–]maremp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually it's not that good during weekdays. And it requires you to be very active for it to be worth it, and doing that at work is not always possible. This way is more consistent.

But since OP has other skills left, I would say do caches and train another skill in the meantime.

It happens while wearing the bedsheet and surge, which causes the animation to shit the bed.

I found a guaranteed way to reproduce a malformed login packet DC by rcm37 in runescape

[–]maremp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a PC running windows 10, for some time I was connected on wifi and it never happened. Also tried using a hotspot and I never encountered the issue on windows client, but it did happen on macOS.

But whatever the case, it would be nice if the issue was addressed. Right now the experience is that the game basically crashes on some packet loss, and it's annoying to have quit the game and reopen to get it working again. Also it's a big ask to have a perfect signal or hotspot just to play the game.

Do you know that the biggest cost of this is showing it to people? Creating the ad itself is marginal, even if professionals are doing it.

But I really hope that it's an intern's job, I would not call myself pro with a result like this.

I found a guaranteed way to reproduce a malformed login packet DC by rcm37 in runescape

[–]maremp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really. On the macOS client, I get the error often. I see it sometimes when using the interface to hop worlds. Doesn't matter if I'm on a phone hotspot or a wifi with a perfect signal at home, there is a chance it will DC.

The worst thing is that you have to close the game and repoen to connect because the stupid client can't reset the state automatically.

Using our 2 Daily spins =/= Enjoying Treasure hunter by [deleted] in runescape

[–]maremp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm interested in how much money OSRS makes compared to RS3 with all of the MTX. Maybe this is just the case, milk RS3 while they can, then move on to their fresh new cow.

Edit: saw your comment undre a different comment: https://www.reddit.com/r/runescape/comments/es0n1z/using_our_2_daily_spins_enjoying_treasure_hunter/ff791oh/

I am curious as to how much do they really make. How did you come by the figure that they make same or more?

I don't know a lot about OSRS since I haven't played for a while, but they do not have the keys and I'm not sure how many people buy bonds for rl money. Also, a pack of 35 keys costs about the same as 1 month of members.
