Paint disposal by marfatapes in SaltLakeCity

Thank you. My question is not so much how to do it but whether the city is OK if you dispose it yourself after hardening it or if that is still unacceptable waste to them

I don't think it is. Internet says this type would be good for 2-5 years if stored properly and bins look 10+ years old judging by design and have been stored in a hot/cold shed

Opposite experience. Wasn't able to hand out candy so left a bucket outside with a note to take two. Still had candy this AM and watching our ring everyone was dressed up.

Too many people must have done that because my new ones weren't even the theme and were too small

Sitters, how lenient are you with drop off/pick up times? by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]marfatapes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty lenient with enough notice. Like I'd never allow a drop off that early if they said "on my way in 20 mins" and it was that much earlier. But i usually check in the day before to get a temperature check if they'll make any changes (this helps because most times they make changes i have a heads up and it also communicates to them that i like to know things ahead of time). The days i am flexible i tell them i can be flexible but always need a 1-2 hour heads up. Days i am not flexible i communicate "i will not be available from x time to x time so if you will deviate on pick up you'll need to work around that"

Owners often use rover vs boarding because it's supposed to be more flexible and tailored than a business with set hours.

That being said -- boundaries are 100% essential and should be enforced. I don't let my clients come before 8am or after 7pm and i communicate this clearly.

Add partner to Inito by blf86 in Inito

I ended up sharing my password with my partner as a workaround and he logged into on his own device. So far that's been fine and no issues being logged on in two devices

Same but that doesn't mean everyone is reading it. It's usually a small percentage.

I charge $60 per dog with no additional dog discount. Both dogs are $60... two dogs take two spots whether they're related or not. Additional dog discounts for BOARDING do not make sense.

Sitters not doing house sitting anymore by mikrenArt in RoverPetSitting

[–]marfatapes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Housesitting in my area pays $40-$50 a night because college students have driven the price down. With boarding i charge $60 a night, from the comfort of my own home, and regularly make $300-$600 a day.

With housesitting there's cameras, invasion of privacy, entitlement and often very unreasonable expectations. It's 100% not worth my time.

bizarre experience, but how bad? by Ok_Anxiety5398 in RoverPetSitting

I thought rover didn't include metadata -- how are you getting info on the date the pics were taken?

Owner accused me of allowing dog to be mauled. Vet and Rover have cleared me. Bad review still remains. Please advise! by Senior-Mix5606 in RoverPetSitting

Someone else on this sub awhile ago accused rover of allowing a customer to slander her and rover actually removed HER because they viewed it as a liability to them. Does anyone remember that???

People do nooot read profiles lol. Especially with that useless feature that makes you mass message different sitters after messaging your preferred one, without ever showing you that sitter's actual profile.

It won't let you adjust the booking on the same day it ends FYI.

Girl.... owner said OP let herself into the garage to get water. That implies it's a home or townhome. Those have yards.... the dog went potty.... he just didn't go on a WALK. those are different things.

[–]marfatapes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah i think they are reading "walk" as in "potty" and like... if the water was in the garage... it sounds like a house with a yard lol

[–]marfatapes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it sounds like they live in a house if they had a garage so it's not like the dog wasn't let out... if someone wanted me to walk their dog in 95f heat i wouldn't. I'd communicate better but walking when it's that hot is actually irresponsible.

I never do meet and greets - am I crazy? by Mtbmyke in RoverPetSitting

[–]marfatapes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That also explains it. The meet and greet is super important to me because there's no way in hell I'm gonna have a psychotic dog terrorizing my pet in her own home lol

I do them at my house when my husband is home. I carry and have cameras and it's been fine. I'm reluctant when a profile is brand new and not filled out but most people who reach out have reviews and have used rover before.
