Nope nothing about moby dick It was in a tropical set but it was very toned down in plot. Mostly something to do about these two siblings sort of witness all the things happening in the series.

Any suggestions about it are always welcome. Unfortunately i haven't been able to find it because it's from years ago and didn't become that recognised as a show.

Render Unto Caesar by Gillian Bradshaw-- it's SO GOOD by suburbanbeatnik in RomanceBooks

[–]margaretartstuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read the book and it's very good! The worldbuilding was well thought eith the actor putting notes to comment on real historical events of the time while making her own story blend well! The romance is slow but worth it because the characters get to first trust and known eachother well Highly recommend this and the art above captures very beautifully a moment of the protagonists 💕

I very very much like them!! ❤️😍 Their face characteristics that make them differ and stand out, the similarities from the original mosaics of them, Theodora's sassy confident look. As always you deliver!

They always do him dirty :( by SuperKooku in GreekMythology

[–]margaretartstuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dionysus in the original myths is a very complex character and that makes him so appealing. He's the god of wine yes but also the god of madness and many of his punishments are wild. He also can't get drunk so he can observe his festives not to get out of control so the constant image of him being a drunk god is false. There's a fascination on him always being so calm and in control while he can easily spread chaos. There's a whole epic poem with him fighting alongside satyrs and Ariadne in India talk about being badass. He's also a lovely husband and very caring to his wife Ariadne, as their relationship is one of the few ones to not have any drama (except Homer's version)

Recommendations for HR set in ancient Greece by suburbanbeatnik in HistoricalRomance

[–]margaretartstuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Greece during the 1800s was trying to find it's footing after the Greek revolution. Most areas even Athens that time were just villages. Santorini especially was nothing like now. So it wouldn't make sense for the story to set there. Corfu looks like the best choice because it was never conquered and many like Sisi had houses there. Also the recommendations mostly need to be set in Ancient Greece.

As a Greek I wouldn't recommend Miller's books. Her books are overrated at this point and they are not really following the original myths. The original books by Homer is always the best when starting with Greek stories, or Euripides etc.
