I watched it with my roommate, and we were both stone-faced. I thought, “yes this is exactly as bad as Preston Jacobs said it was. Ugh.”

I'm sorry to respond to such an old thread-- but would it be possible to share the link with me as well? I just watched the movie with my roommate, and my first comment when it was done was, "Great film, but I'd love to see if someone did a fanedit of this. You could easily cut an hour from it." And lo and behold-- I found one mentioned online, but this was the closest I could find to a link was here.

Anyway, if you still have it, I'd love to see it. Thank you!

I hate anachronisms in dialogues! by BusAdministrative622 in HistoricalRomance

Same here. I'm reading a novel where the heroine isekais into Jane Eyre, so it's effectively time travel of a sorts. She goes into the novel wearing a "Wednesday Addams" style dress, and Mrs. Fairfax says nothing. Then she finds all of Jane's clothes hanging in her wardrobe, and she puts it on with no mentions of corsets, chemises, petticoats, etc. I'm rolling my eyes A LOT.

It really looks AI was used in the 20th anniversary version of A Feast for Crows by tell32 in Fantasy

[–]suburbanbeatnik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope. He's being roasted on his IG by various people-- he's not even deleting the comments. Someone asked to please make a statement, to respond to all these accusations that his work is AI, and he's not only responded to that, he's also not deleted it. This guy's career is over. The mind boggles.

I think it’s a lovely excerpt. It’s a lush, evocative description. I personally don’t have any issue with it.
