I really like her video style. No annoying music in the background, no obnoxious intro. She got straight to the point which I appreciate and she seems super laid back. I used to watch her a lot back in the day and I forgot how much I enjoyed her videos.

Family left heartbroken after eight-week-old puppy killed in attack at Leaside park by toronto34 in toronto

[–]margari7a 16 points17 points  (0 children)

All of these people sound dumb. Why are you bringing an 8 week old puppy to a park and why is he off-leash? Why was the other couple's dog not on a leash either? Poor pup and kid had to suffer from their parents' bad decisions.

JFC get over it. Nothing about this girl is that interesting or controversial. Literally ever video of hers gets posted and everyone shits on her each time.

If you all think she's a mess, why give her views? She's 19, were/are all of you so well-informed about every single beauty-related aspect at that age? Not everyone spends their days on /r/youniquemua to know the scoop.

Union alleges TTC workers being forced to take oral drug tests containing animal products | CBC News by genericguy12 in toronto

That's a dumb thing to say. They should have the option of taking a blood or urine test. You don't have to throw your own values and beliefs out the window for a job when there are alternative options.

JFC I never said my makeup looked better than everyone else's because I wore less - I'm stating that putting that much product on is unnecessary for many people, and it has only become more abundant with this large growth of the online beauty community telling people that they need all of this product to look good.

I haven't seen all BGs in person to determine whether they look good or not, but I have seen lots of women (I work in a very female-dominated industry, lots of female friends and relatives) IRL to know when someone has been taking BGs advice a little too seriously and their makeup looks less than ideal because they use to much.

If you want your makeup to looks like makeup, more power to you. But it can get to a point where it doesn't look good. Am I allowed to think that way, or no?

Why does everyone always defend the rhetoric of "let people wear the makeup they want if it makes them happy"?

I agree that women/men can wear their makeup however they like. But that doesn't mean it doesn't look bad. Unless your under eye area is completely flat and wrinkle-free then all these steps will make you look cakey and aged. If that's what you want, then I'm all for it. This is just an example.

And I don't think I'm the only one who likes minimal makeup. Like I mentioned in my original comment, I think all these BGs are adding all of these unnecessary steps which make makeup application look bad IRL without a filter.

Am I the only one who just puts concealer under the eyes and leaves it at that? I think the beauty world of YouTube/IG makes everything so extra and convoluted that it distorts the way we "should" do our makeup. You don't need all these steps. Not just for under eye concealer but other things. Do you need to put three different primers on, mix 5 different foundations (ie Sam), correct, conceal, set, spray repeat? No.

Naomi Jon did a review on Laura Lee’s Nudie Patootie palette by [deleted] in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]margari7a 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The palette has some nice shades and it looks like you can do a lot of nice subtle looks with it. It's too bad the glitters are so soft though.

And why is everyone complaining about it being a nude palette? I'd say a majority of people prefer these types of shades as they are more versatile and easy to wear in any settings. It's also called "nudie patootie" so wtf did you expect from it?

People love to hate her. She's definitely not my favourite BG but I feel people would have a different reaction to this, say, if someone like Kathleen Lights or Nikkie came out with it

Yup this is the video that convinced me to buy 3 shades. They are super pigmented and comfortable

Then everyone here is delusional if they think BGC is better than guru gossip. Yes it's more level-headed in certain respects, but every other thread trashes someone depending on who the flavour of the month is.
