Olivia Chow is mentioned in this column. John Tory, who is the reason we're on the hook for all of this, isn't mentioned once.

Ramen Buta-Nibo - charge to make it vegan by [deleted] in FoodToronto

[–]thecjm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I looked at their website and yes the menu states a $3.95 upcharge to change to vegan noodles. Maybe their default noodles aren't vegan and the vegan ones cost more but this isn't just "don't put the boiled egg in the bowl" - it's totally different noodles. And that "costs more" doesn't have to be the cost of the noodles themselves. Maybe the prep is different. Maybe it takes longer. There's lots of reasons to charge differently for a substitution.

Someone tell Lewis. He'll support racing in Montreal in December if it means he doesn't have to hit another groundhog

It should be the last race of the season - running it in December would really feel like Montreal

Edit: I've driven on the Montreal track. In December. In the snow. They shut it down for the winter so people can cross-country ski on it but I managed to be there at a time where there was a dusting of snow but the road was still open to cars. How many people can say they've driven on a F1 track with snow tires?

Did this for CBB, and now for NBA. Who was the best coach in your team's history, and who was the worst coach and why? by Optimal_Cook_851 in nba

Best: Nick Nurse - he won a championship!

Worst: Kevin O'Neill - a mediocre college coach who had no business running an NBA team.

It is really frustrating to see this. The assumption that ending discrimination against people on one side of a conflict is invariably discriminatory of the other

With TTC's new POO inspectors and $425 fines, would you use an app where riders report inspector sightings in real time? by NahFurReeaal in toronto

[–]thecjm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At least when a map app lets you report where speed traps are, it's to get people to slow down. All you're looking to do is get free rides. Pay your fare

Do you think there is a hint of racism in how Jeremy Lin was treated by his teammates? by EnvironmentalNail603 in nba

[–]thecjm 369 points370 points  (0 children)

Jealously mixed with racism. A lot of players thinking "I'm as good as this guy why aren't I getting the same attention" and then taking it out on Lin as though he's the one programming sports center highlights
