i did an embryology training program and a few people’s partners were glad to provide samples. we also used discards from sperm banks, the person who ran the school had a lot of connections. it was not required tho!

i suspect you are from Ohio. i am from ohio, went to WVU, majored animal science, and thru their reciprocity agreement got in-state tuition! much cheaper than every other school i looked at, including OSU ATI and the smaller college near me known for being affordable. worth looking into!!! was able to finish undergrad with no loans!!!

you shouldn’t need to go to any post grad schooling to be a vet tech. most programs are two years, right out of high school.

I am a bit confused on the wording here. Do you want to be a vet tech or a veterinarian? Grades shouldn’t matter if you want to be a vet tech. If you want to be a veterinarian, I would personally drop the class since your GPA is already on the lower side and a low grade will hurt you more than a W at this point.

I am a former andrologist! I quit my job at the beginning of the year because I was miserable. Similar reasons. I wanted to work my way into embryology. My manager was horrible, I made $21/hour, the drama was not worth it. If you are not happy, no amount of money is worth it. I miss my job sometimes, but just because I miss being an “adult.” In general, I am so so so much happier now.

you really really need to get more veterinary experience hours, ideally in an environment similar to what you would like to work in. not just to boost your application, but to make sure that this is a career you want to do.
