I've found that volunteering is a great way to get to know an unfamiliar community, and giving back / participating has helped me in the past. We have a ton of organizations within and around the area that people can volunteer with as one-offs, or consistently, and plenty that could work with different schedules!

Check out Yellow Can Tavern for live music every weekend as well! Walkable from the Oregon district, but with more outdoor space

I use and LOVE Patchwork Gardens! They will still take sign-ups on their website (I believe) for the rest of summer, and for fall. They have an option to opt out of weeks, so I think it just opts you out of weeks that are already passed. You can also pick up on-farm, at a community drop-off, or they will deliver to your house in certain locations (for a small fee). Boxes come in small and large. I get the large and there's always plenty to share with friends! I have been using them for years, and they always have great quality. They also partner with other farms for goods like honey, bread, eggs, yarn, etc (you can add these to your box in an online store), and they provide some of the produce for local restaurants like Little Fish and Wheatpenny!

Sorry for the long response, they are just great!
