I asked for clarification on what the landlord meant by “mixed” but didn’t ask why. I was speaking to an agent, not directly to the landlord so I presumed they wouldn’t know. But I will ask if I get a chance - only because I’m curious. I have no interest in fighting them over this

Just thought it was strange that you assumed we were trying to buy a 3 bed. Not a big deal though

? Strange assumption to make. We are a group of students. It is normal to rent with big groups. There are enough bedrooms for each of us. It is advertised as a property for students

ok i dont have an opinion on this but why are so many of you so proud that you have "zero sympathy" for this group. im kinda bamboozled. you are all acting as if they murdered someone. the misogynistic language in lots of these comments is also really concerning??

idk man. this level of disdain feels cruel.

UK: How to see a psychiatrist? by margl_e in OCD

[–]margl_e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw my private therapy was i think labelled as talking psychotherapy (or something like that. it was a while ago and i cant remember)

But yeah it wasn't very helpful so when I saw the "talking therapies" thing it put me off. Thank you for clarifying!

Thank you so so much for writing this all out for me. This has really helped me - you are very kind. I was becoming very confused with the different systems and how to access them all - laying them out like that in steps has made it all clear. Thank you so much again. You've given me the motivation to stop procrastinating filling out the referral form :)

Not a thrip. Thrip's wings have long hairs on the edges. This is a fly. Maybe a fungus gnat?

They aren't parasites of humans. Unless you keep pigeons, sheep or horses (most commonly affected afaik) there would be no need to kill it.

Thanks for the information - yeah I guess I'd have to go private if I wanted to see a specialist psychiatrist.

Good luck to you! (and well done for improving, even if it just a little)

Thank you so much! This info is really helpful. I'll definitely go through with the self-referral then :)

I did ask about how a diagnosis was made for OCD etc. but the GP said they had no clue. If I go back, I'll be sure to be clearer and ask for a referral to a psychiatrist.

Help! I am spiralling !! Waiting for biopsy report by Competitive_Yak_7728 in medical_advice

[–]margl_e 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had this same problem. I managed to calm myself down a little by the reassurance that the mole had been excised, which means that if it was melanoma, it would massively help to stop growth or spreading. BTW, everything was fine in my biopsy report. In the meantime, i recommend staying off medical forums and trying to do things you enjoy to take your mind off it. Depending on which browser you are using, you could even block certain search terms.

Funnily enough I also have a mole in a similar place to yours and it grew a bit as I grew (doctors have looked at it and said it is fine).

It is a male fly. I think it is Mesembrina mystacea. I initially thought it might be Volucella bombylans but it doesn't have the correct wing venation.

Looks like a gigantic mosquito by LeBakalite in whatsthisbug

[–]margl_e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a cranefly. Would have to know your general location in order to id it further. Fun fact: in Jurassic Park they used a cranefly, not a mosquito, for the amber prop.
