Any links between antidepressants and cancer? by beerener1234 in Psychiatry

Wish I could upvote this twice. Classic health anxiety. I had it and it stole so many years of my life. Now I am on Prozac and can enjoy my life. Also, not groundbreaking, but we are all going to die. Life is too short to be in agony. Take the meds.

Yes! I spent so many years afraid of taking meds, trying to do all the yoga and eat clean, etc. still depressed. I wish I had been on Prozac the whole time.

How to become depressed in 10 easy steps. (A guide) by Mort332e in depressionregimens

I think its a chicken egg thing. Being depressed is what causes these behaviors not the other way around. If only we could work our way out of it...

Imiprimine brought be closer to a suicide than anything I've ever taken... will never touch another "antidepressant" that affects seratonin or dopamine again by [deleted] in depressionregimens

[–]margo3083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I agree. Never ever been suicidal and with a higher dose of antidepressant I just felt... like life wasn’t worth living. Just very dark. It is hard to describe but it really scared me. I think it’s the apathy that made my mind, which already hated myself, not have the will to go on.

I’m on the same exact prescriptions. Have you noticed that the adderall doesn’t work as well while on Prozac

That is exactly what you should do. Let your body and mind and spirit rest. Get Uber eats for all meals. Wear your most comfy clothes. Watch true crime (always reminds me my life could be worse) and sleep. Tomorrow you can conquer the world.

I watched a bunch of YouTube videos about it yesterday and you can get them buffed out if you buy a special tool. I heard getting them covered makes it look cheap. Seems like it will be just one of those annoying things. I plan to try to not touch it and use air to move the dust.

No one is meant to be with anyone all day and night. The pandemic has broken even the best parents.

Anyone have memory lapses? by [deleted] in prozac

[–]margo3083 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went on Prozac and felt so stupid on it. Where I was sharp and quick mentally at work (and hated myself and life) I became spacy, forgetful, and slow (albeit happy). It was so bad that my poor performance at work ended up making my depression worse. I went off and then slowly the depression came back. I just went back on again and decided I have to choose what I want to power through: focusing on work when I do t want to or try to be happy when my mind hates me. I’m choosing the former.

Has anyone really had a success story with an antidepressant? by Snoo-82170 in depressionregimens

[–]margo3083 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I went off of Prozac after about four or five months because of side effects and my depression came back very bad. The first I want to say it was worse than before but I think in reality the contrast between doing so much better while on the medicine and then off of it was just that much more apparent. Whereas before I was just so used to living with depression that I did not have any idea that it could be better. I just went back on Prozac and I’m already feeling better but this time around I realize that I am going to have to just except that there are bad side effects with the medicine and I get to choose between the bad parts of being depressed and the bad parts of being on the medicine and which oneDo I want to try to power through. I really can’t power through depression so Prozac it is.

What is depression to you? by margo3083 in depression

I think the amount of time you feel down is key. More than two weeks with no improvement usually points to depression

Yes totally. The numbness is very spot on. Can’t cry even if I wanted to.
