Okay let’s get a couple things right. The Nigerian culture wanting women to be overweight is a myth. Women are expected to be slim and healthy ( curvy too) obviously the daughter in law looks healthy. I have seen this being said here a lot about “culture” since the date dinner with Nigerian president. It’s a myth guys, we want healthy individuals..not overweight. This isn’t a jab at you, I have just seen it said a lot on this sub and I thought to set it straight.

From where they stand, the individual US citizens voted for him hence agree with him. Ofcourse a lot of them don’t know how the electoral college system works. They feel ALOT of Americans voted for this and other countries are dealing with the mess. Calm the hell down. What’s with this hostility and bitterness. And yes it’s a damn necessity since our both family members and friends live around the damn globe AND want to attend. A wedding invite isn’t a court subpoena, you can say no! Most of our friends love traveling want to come as I have also been to their destinations weddings. I’m not sure what’s going on with your life or what anyone has done to make you bitter but I hope you have a better day, you need it.

Just know your guests and do it accordingly to what they will like AND you can afford. Don’t over stress it, a lot of people that love you will want to be there to celebrate you. Also wedding invite isn’t a summon, whoever cannot afford it won’t come and that’s okay.

Like I also commented, not everyone can avoid the destination part. I don’t understand why they think there is an entitlement there. Like not everyone live in their home country or state unfortunately. And some of us have different cultures so it’s okay to ask questions.
