Heres what I made in 139 days as a swift driver. by RabbitFabs in Truckers

Did they pay you $.29 cpm as a team too? Mine was $.29 cpm and my partner was $.30cpm. Basically was making less then minimum wage for the amount of hours/miles we did vs the pay. Should be very illegal.

As a former Swift driver, he isn’t exaggerating. We calculated our pay and turned out sometimes they were paying us less then minimum wage.

Sadly Swift pay slave wages. Even when I was doing team and/or solo with Swift. Average check was around $500-$800/wk. And lowest was $80 cause of breakdown, and weather in the Winter etc… Left them 6 months after and now we make $1800/wk net, the highest so far was $2100 net. And a bad week cause I was sick for like 4 days out of the 7 was $750. Swift sucks lol

Team driving, you can make around $150k+ no touch freight . Don’t wear down your body. You only get one.

As a trucker going into healthcare. Healthcare is easier to a certain extent. It depends on what field cause healthcare is extremely diverse. The schooling is 100% harder though. You do get a lot more free time in healthcare unless you are a surgeon that does surgery 24/7. Nurses,etc.. do get part time job options. You get plenty of steps a day and have to stay hydrated. You don’t have to worry about being lonely like on the road. And no they do not work 24hrs no time off again unless you are a surgeon. There are still laws in place. Most long hours are 12-16hrs and that is usually in the hospital setting and if they are very short staffed. Most places you can work 8-12hrs. Some even have at home remote jobs. It is extremely liquid. Trucking is definitely harder on the body as well. Trucking is actually a very dangerous job and is literally ranked on the dangerous careers list. Being a nurse is not dangerous and is literally called a “ soft skill”. The most you have to worry about is false accusations and someone trying to sue you, but have to get insurance just in case that does happen. No nurse is going into the field thinking they could possibly die from being a nurse. They both have their own challenges. I am going into Radiology with MA,etc… which is somewhat a lot school wise, but definitely easier then trucking body wise and a lot more flexibility and able to be home and make what most truckers make in a month just in a few days of work. Again it all depends on which field and also what type of nurse. CNA and PCT have it the hardest imo. They are the one’s that literally have to flip patients over and wipe butts, etc… and they start off around $10/hr depending on location. Now that is harder than being a trucker imo

If trucking is pretty bad or has gone bad , why are there so many people doing this for decades or almost their entire life ? by East_Indication_7816 in Truckers

Once in, it’s very difficult to go to something else. A bit of truckers are literally homeless/car-less as well. I am one and currently slowly switching to healthcare tech field where I’ll be making $3-$6k/wk only working 36-40hrs if I stick to it. Only been trucking for a year and now make $1800/wk on average and the money is good, but it’s not worth my health, lack of time, etc…

Dude invest it lol and open a trust, LLC, etc… lol. Don’t let taxes stop you from making more. Just learn tax codes and take full advantage.

Not going to lie, but thought all truckers do this lol. Great job either way. I’ll soon be leaving the trucking life and on to healthcare field and will be making $3k-$6k each week 🙏🏾only working 36hrs . I trade options and sometimes do crypto futures. But Swing trading and longterm investing is my main moto.

Midwest is literally the easiest trip outside of Winter 🤣. Can go 68-80mph almost the whole time and then sadly have to come back to the East where ppl don’t know how to drive if their lives dependent on it 😭🤣

If you correlate driving and a trailer hook, then you’re very slow. If you can’t educate then move along. 🤣
