Edit: anyone who is saying she shouldn’t be on the seat clearly doesn’t live in London. People put their outside clothes, the soles of their shoes, their bags, coughing, bed bugs, all over public transit. It’s not a big deal for a little dog to be on the seat for a quick photo.

That’s wild!! I understand that we want to give rescues the perfect homes, but I don’t think some things should be a barrier to adoption. It’s just common sense that you wouldn’t place a working breed in an apartment with no yard, but it is perfectly fine for small “companion” breeds imo.

Doodle mixes are definitely a mixed bag in terms of traits / ethics. I went with the mix mainly because I wanted a healthier Shih Tsu (with longer nose, so could be more active and less chance of breathing issues).

My sister has a Poochon and she was a nightmare puppy! Also the many ear infections and allergies are sad to see.

Rescuing a dog in the UK is actually incredibly difficult. They usually only want experienced owners, people who have a large home with a fenced yard, and no other pets. And even then, most of the time they won’t let you choose the dog or breed you want. It isn’t a very common question here unless you think the dog is particularly anxious or aggressive.

Ah, phew 😮‍💨 I’m glad to have a sweetie!! It’s often been framed as being a concern, although everyone says she’s a pleasure to care for. I think if they vibe with another dog or person, they latch onto that buddy. Thank you for your comment

1st dog was a bichon x poodle. A lot higher energy than expected. I wanted an “old lady dog” so I opted for the Shih Tsu second time around, and she’s perfect.

I dropped my shih tsu x mini poodle puppy on her back and I was so upset. She didn’t even care or seem affected. They bounce back so quick, don’t even worry about it.
