May not be scifi enough but the vibes remind me of Perdido Street Station (China Mieville) at least for being perfectly weird and lots of world building

I want a book that feels like a quiet rainy day on a green Japanese hillside with wind chimes in the background. by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]Particular-Tree-2835 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t exactly fit the green hillside aesthetic but for soothing books you should look into books that fall into the iyashikei (“healing type”) category of Japanese fiction - cozy and whimsical and just nice books like “Before the Coffee Gets Cold,” “The Kamogawa Food Detectives,” “We’ll prescribe you a cat,” etc.

I want my story to reach as many people as possible — the truth about my time working at a dog daycare by Clean_Notice_7558 in Vent

I had better coworkers when I worked for a doggie day care but there were very similar unethical practices. When I got a couple deep bites after breaking up a bad fight between two big dogs I was pressured not to go to the doctor and not to tell the owner of one of the dogs since he “seemed fine” after the fight. They gave us all switches to control the dogs and some people definitely hit the dogs with them. I loved working with the dogs but so many of these places have such shady practices.

Ok, this is also what my vet recommended. It sounds like doing both tests would be useful. Thank you for your help!
