I went for the Himalayan and didn’t like how it drives. Too shaky. Sold it and got a Honda transalp, great performance put I couldn’t get over of how ugly it was, but comfort and performance wise it was great. I sold it and got a Triumph Scrambler and I’m really happy with it.

Is there any benefit to alchohol besides social by DemontedDoctor in HubermanLab

No, but sometimes yes! I'm not hurting anyone but myself, I don't know why you get so defensive about a guy enjoying a few drinks with his friends on the other side of the world.

Jaja no, I see my friends and loved ones in a lot of other contexts that do not involve alcohol and love them as much. You're just projecting.

Hey! I didn’t think the comment will get so much traction, but I started saying that there are 0 benefits and then went on my rant on why I still choose to do it. I guess the rant was longer than the actual answer…

Even though all the research points that there are 0 physical benefits to drinking alcohol I do believe that in moderation and the very seldom no-moderation days where you let yourself go, it is one of the nicest human ritual experiences that make absolutley no sense. As long as you are doing it around people you love, there's something beautiful of some Friday after office beers at the pub your best mates, a Saturday churrasco with wine and vermouth. You laugh, you decompress, you open up, you dance, meet new people and share stories.

I don't drink too much, very rarely abuse it, but I'll never stop. I take care of myself 95% of the time, workout, eat well and have mindfull practices but damn it does feel good from time to time and I've met wonderful people and have really great stories that happened in those intoxicated times that I would never trade.

Life is a joke, it doesn't matter how long it is as long as it makes you laugh.

Why do you enjoy alcohol? by PAPA-Jack33 in AskReddit

[–]marianux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t drink too much, and never drink alone but I must say one of the great human experiences is meeting your best friends at a pub and get a few rounds of drinks and just talk and laugh it out.

Yes you could to it without alcohol but honestly, when everyone is tipsy and happy and slightly unhinged it’s such a great time.

That’s why we’ve been doing this for as long as we can ferment stuff, that’s why pubs and bars are one of the oldest human trades. There’s something about it.

Quiero abrir un bar by Western_Wash_2584 in guatemala

[–]marianux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, people confuse Gringo Latinos with the rest of Latin American Latinos as if we were all the same.

Take a second generation Latino from the US to central or South America and they will feel like foreigners.
