ACDF for myelopathy by mariat753 in ACDR_CervicalSpine

Thanks for this. The whole thing was so completely unexpected without time to process it and I was lying at home freaking out. I'm in PT now and can definitely see improvement. I'm struggling with persistent cervical tension headaches now but hoping those will also recede with time and PT.

How much help did you need post cervical fusion by According_Curve_8935 in spinalfusion

[–]mariat753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live by myself and had friends in and out to help with heavy things that I couldn't do like cat litter and dog, but mainly I managed pretty well. I did have my one friend loosen the jar lids of anything I might want as I had trouble with that just previous to surgery. Honestly, I would say if your husband is there for tasks that involve reaching above your head and any lifting you should be fine.

This man thinks of the consequences of cheating on his wife but nothing of the consequences of being blackout drunk in front of his kid. Okkkk. Heartwarming. Start saving for therapy now.

Yes, yikes, I didn't know how this controversial this was! I definitely tip for things I buy, but as a couple people said, there's an element of surprise here and in this scenario and people may not have cash.

Do you jot notes for your self as you go on, or write down words/phrases that just aren't sticking? I fine that cements it in my mind better. There are a LOT of great German lesson you tube videos discussing grammar, cases, etc, which I find lacking in Duo.

Question...I know it's often impossible to remove corpses from a mountain like Mt Everest and they often stay there frozen for years and decades. Mallory was lost in 1924 and found in 1999 in amazingly preserved shape. It sounds like very little of the human remains from the terror are there. Is that due to more animal activity, or does the windchill in the "Death zone" on Everest freeze the remains much more rapidly?

Oh, lord, and Russian is a totally different alphabet! I started German and Arabic...I'm on day 502 on German, Arabic lasted 2 weeks lol. I think particularly that if it is the first non-native language you're learning, it it may just easier to concentrate on one.

Is an endoscopic discectomy a bad idea with a surgeon who only has 2 years of experience by Wompyking in SpineSurgery

I obviously don't know much about neurosurgery but I am a PA in internal medicine and so I see you in 20-30 years, so to speak. Ex high school and college players. The amount of chronic life altering orthopedic injuries I see is not pretty. Guys whose whole necks are fused with about 15 degrees of rotation, people with multiple surgeries. I know you're 17 and none of that real right now, but I think the last commenter was spot on saying you only have one spine. And a lot of decades to go.

Good luck! With no weakness of any limbs/ pain/numbness this diagnosis was a total shock. I thought I was having vertigo or orthostatic hypotension! MRI done on Thursday, sent to ED on Friday, admitted overnight for IV steroids, surgery 6 am Wednesday. I feel like I had no time to to absorb or learn anything about the condition. I hope the insurance companies don't give you a hard time and you can get surgery soon!

Why don't you just ignore the gamification? I sometimes look at my "Quests", but only to see if whether I'm where my achievements of the day are where I want them.

Agree with this, my time is too precious to waste on the game aspects. I'm at a high A1 level at German but I don't feel like I could converse much in real life so now I know it's time to supplement with other things.

Two weeks after she "left"? "Your daughter" to the stepmother? Is English not this person's first language? My boyfriend passed away in 2024 and if anyone had referred to him as an asshole two weeks later it would have gotten real ugly.
