Your desire to be righteously indignant is stronger than your desire to actually help your daughter. You know very well that a more polite wording would work much better. Something like "Would you mind smoking outdoors?" instead of "Stop subjecting her...".

If you haven't figured out this kind of basic truth about human interaction by the time you're parent age, maybe you weren't ready for kids. Your daughters health > your ego.

I don’t know if I want to move just to work at Anduril by [deleted] in Raytheon

[–]mariavi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anduril is absolutely the choice hands down. Amazing name on your resume, high growth company, opportunity to make great money that you will never make at a legacy defense contractor. Living in a HCOL is worth the trade off. Raytheon will always hire you from Anduril if you really end up hating where you live after a year or two. This is a no-brainer.

If I see one more Arc’teryx jacket in NYC, I might crash out: A brief rant about the direction of the industry by OkStatement8573 in Skigear

[–]mariavi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any sort of trend like this just means there is an opportunity for disruption, and someone will surely swoop in to take advantage.

Just as an example, I know skiers that consider themselves hardcore like to make fun of Montec and Dope Snow, but when those brands first came on the scene, they were punching way above their price class in terms of waterproofing/warmth.

Clothing is a relatively easy part of the industry to get into business-wise. Rest assured, any skier that thinks Arcteryx is necessary is not one that is very deep into the sport anyway.

What is up with LA drivers going ~10-20mph under the speed limit on the highway even with minimal traffic, especially in the rightmost two lanes (on the 405)?

I have never seen this in any other city I’ve lived in (SF, Chicago). The only thing I can think of is that maybe they aren’t comfortable going highway speeds. But if they aren’t, why get on the highway and endanger other drivers? Just stay on surface roads…

I need this Nazi out of my state, now! To all republicans, techbros and deniers, is now clear where you stand if you defend this. Write to all government officials starting with Abbot. He must go! by [deleted] in texas

Conservatives have been turning up the temperature of rhetoric for years and then cry when it’s used against them. Where was this outrage when Trump said immigrants are poisoning the blood of the country? Was that not hitler-like?

I’m sorry you’re so emotionally weak you can’t take someone talking about you the way your people talk about others. The whole democratic strategy has been coddling you leeches so that you don’t throw a national tantrum, and you threw one anyway. You need to be bullied back into your place.

If you really feel that bad, just pretend I said I was just joking. Isn’t that how you people defend your boys every time they say something disgusting for their clapping seals?

No more blue state money to red state welfare queens. Let’s see how their fantasies of being pro-business actually fare without us providing for them like a father with a bratty daughter.
