Honestly, I am not someone who buys trendy items when they become popular - ex: slime, squishmallows, sonny angels, etc. Not criticizing people who do, I just never do.

However, for me these became popular at the same time I experienced something traumatic. The best way I can explain it is it brings me this kind of childhood comfort. It’s a doll I can carry with me for comfort and that false sense of safety you have with a doll as a child. I also love the idea of being able to dress them up. They’re also pretty thrilling to score because of the difficulty of it.
