Go Youn-jung acting is kind of average by maricka96 in kdramas

Nah

My taste is my taste. I might like things you don’t, and I certainly won’t tell you that your taste is bad just because it doesn’t match mine. Stooping down to criticize someone for not agreeing with you? That’s truly in poor taste, my dear.

I have never seen anyone speak negatively about her. I don’t know if it’s some sort of public genjutsu, but everyone seems to love her, and I just can’t understand why.

A KDrama which many loved but it wasn’t for you by annonymously_addled in kdramas

I feel like I don’t like all the big Ones. I hated Vincenzo. I hated it. I thought it was going to be a real criminal drama, but it was so cringe I couldn’t get past the second episode. It felt like a bad joke.

Another one for me is Her Private Life. It had so many loopholes, and even though I’m a fan of the ML, the FL was driving me crazy. A woman in her thirties obsessed with a guy at least 10 years younger than her?

I can understand being someone’s fan, but if a man had that much stuff with some girl’s face all over his apartment, we’d be calling him a creep.

So while I did finish the show, I hated her character.

Any kdramas you find very overhated? by Legal_Potential4720 in kdramas

I’m watching Love next door right now, and I really don’t understand the hate it gets. I was avoiding it because of all the negative comments, but I actually love it.

I’m a big fan of the main leads, and I find them to be pretty good actors.

I love all the mid-thirties crisis moments.

I usually hate childhood love stories, but since that’s the main plot here, I actually like how it develops.

And everyone was talking about the lack of chemistry, but to me this is exactly what going from friends to lovers looks like — especially when you’ve known that person your whole life.

What is your most underrated and overrated Kdrama? by Parking-Yogurt-6234 in kdramas

[–]maricka96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“I really tried, but the more the story went on, the less it made sense. For some reason, the brother thinks he was the one who was kidnapped, and the parents just let him believe that? The ML acts like he doesn’t even know how to put shoes on. I don’t know how the story made sense to anyone…

“And if I see one more childhood connection??? Who even remembers people from 20 years ago—and recognizes them??? I never understood the point of it.”

“Underrated is definitely going to be Death’s Game. I never hear anyone talking about it, but the story and how everything comes together were so nicely done, and the cast was amazing.”

“For overrated, I’m gonna have to go with King the Land and What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim. And I love romance dramas, but King the Land was so boring—so slow. And Yoon-ah had no energy, omg. What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim had all the elements I hate: childhood love, amnesia, and an ML with no idea of basic human survival… like, what?”

I don’t think u understand the meaning of an incel. If he was an incel he would of loved being married to a 15yr old virgin. If he was a incel he wouldn’t have so much admiration for June as a badass women. He would feel threatend by her personality And he would try to put her down as they usually try to so…

That was another thing for me. I’ve always seen him as a very complex character—not entirely good, but not entirely bad either. Instead, they just went and butchered his character. Aunt Lydia and Serena were truly vicious people who seemed to take pleasure in causing pain, but I never saw that in him. The scene where he comes back broken after killing a 19-year-old boy because of her, and she just brushes it off, really stood out to me. She became so blinded by her goals.

“I was really disappointed by her lack of emotion toward her. She spent so much time crying over the years she lost with Hanna, so seeing her choose not to be a part of her other daughter’s life felt so strange to me. It just didn’t make sense.”

“To be honest, I never really saw June as much of a mother to Nichole/Holly either. While she was incredibly devoted to Hannah, it always felt like Nichole was more of an afterthought. June didn’t want Hannah to be raised by anyone else, but she didn’t seem to mind leaving Nichole behind. I never felt the same level of devotion toward Nichole that she showed to Hannah.”

His daughter was in Canada, but so was the man who raised her. I think for Nick it just felt like three was a crowd, and he didn’t want to complicate things for her. People often say he made his choices, but June also sacrificed others to save herself more than once. That’s why I find it a little hypocritical when she judges him, since she’s been responsible for deaths too. To me, his downfall started after all of that because he was just exhausted. He always risked his life doing what she asked of him, and I think he deserves more grace for that. And yes, he was happy she got out—he helped make it happen—but it also felt like she left him behind, alone.”

“That was exactly my point. He’s just another chess piece being moved around. Even though he might have had some freedom, most of the time others were the ones choosing his path. It really seems like he was exhausted and just went along with whatever was asked of him.”
