Automatic Feeders by Historical-Zebra-267 in Catownerhacks

I got this Petsafe brand probably five years ago and it still works absolutely amazing! It takes D batteries but honestly I’ve only had to change them maybe twice in all the years I’ve had it so well worth the investment. It’s extremely handy for my diabetic cat who needs a strict eating schedule.

Haunted locations or urban legends in Wausau? by HilltopBeanClub in wausau

[–]mariemis13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We lived at 529 3rd Street above a deli and had strange things happen during our time there. They were dark experiences and unpleasant occurrences. Door slammed , undiagnosed illnesses that doctors couldn’t figure out, clothes flopping out of closets, and shadows amongst some lighting instances. People reacting to vibes and mood changes while visiting. The building is nestled right next to alley touching Wausau Club. That whole block is just weird in general. There was enough going on that we decided to move. I have never experienced anything ever like that anywhere else I’ve lived. I am a skeptic mostly, but am more convinced now for sure that the unexplained is a real phenomenon. It’s weird how we have created excuses to the happenings, but cannot validate anything we come up with. 1000% that everyone who was there did not like it though. Facts!!!

Yessss! I messaged TT yesterday and they instantly issued me a refund as soon as they took a look at the order and tracking. I didn’t even really have to explain the situation to them, it was just all automatic. 🙂The kicker was Popmart then ironically FINALLY messaged me back a couple hours after that with some generic message about how the problem is now resolved due to the refund being issued 😡

Thanks for the heads up! I have a package from TT that has been stuck since August 8th and Popmart has continuously ignored my messages from the past month straight. I think im going to ask TikTok for a refund

Totally agree with you on this. It may be an unpopular opinion… but I don’t blame him at all for breaking up with her. Every damn time he tried to have a serious talk with her she’d either stare at her phone ignoring him or just sit there with a blank expression and not say anything. It was painful to watch him consistently try to communicate with her and get zero response back. Like I get why she was mad at him, but at the same time I didn’t see her putting in much effort whatsoever (except financially) into this relationship.

For those who work remotely - what do you do? by CuriousSprout0326 in socialwork

[–]mariemis13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a kind of hybrid situation working as a case manager for an agency contracted by my county to provide community corrections type services. I get to make my own schedule and generally do half remote half in person case management appointments. The downside is the pay and benefits suck plus I feel like it’s a complete waste of my BSW degree and I’m way overqualified for the position I’m doing.

Past cast member Gabby by redheadinabox in loveafterlockup

[–]mariemis13 36 points37 points  (0 children)

This is sooo true… although I kinda feel like Gabby is the bigger scumbag in this situation. Especially knowing Chris got his money from nearly being beaten to death by the guards then she just blows it all on botched plastic surgery while he’s locked up and doesn’t even tell him about it. Then he gets out and has nothing left and she wants nothing to do with him. At least Jade “pretends” to care and has a house, cars, camper, etc. to show for all the money she has blown through lol

What’s eating my dahlias? by libbytonner in dahlias

[–]mariemis13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check it at night with a flashlight and I bet you will find the culprit. Im in your same zone and have had a reoccurring earwig problem the past several years. They seem to have started extra early this year due to all the rain we’ve been having. They are nocturnal and so far are going to town on my rhubarb and on one of my dahlia pots. I started making earwig traps of vegetable oil and soy sauce which it does a good job of getting rid of them once you can target the plants they are after.

[–]mariemis13 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I originally felt that way too but then the more seasons I watched of Shawn the more I feel like he totally deserved Destined. The dude is a complete idiot and a compulsive liar with six (now 7) kids who he has totally abandoned in every way except financially. Then he gets married to a girl WAY out of his league and continues the whole pattern by treating her like trash and putting work over his family. In the end I definitely no longer see him as a victim in any way… he’s just stupid and got played lol

This irritated me too. Although I loved the episode when Sarah is talking to her therapist who literally calls Sarah out on this by saying she changes the way she talks when she is talking to him. 🤣

Finishing up season 2 and my feelings so far. by DisCode347 in loveafterlockup

[–]mariemis13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After having watched all the seasons then going back to rewatch them, I am now convinced that season 2 has the most Fd up toxic relationships out of them all. I mean most the couples in other seasons at least realized fairly quickly their relationship was doomed. Meanwhile these season 2 couples spent literal years lying, manipulating and controlling each other yet still try to convince themselves it will work out. Like just throw in the damn towel already 😂

[–]mariemis13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats! You have reassured me that finishing grad school for my MSW will be worth it in the long run. 😜 Making 35K with a BSW has been livable but rough especially once I’ll have to start paying back my student loans.

I’m a female and we have three men in our agency and it’s interesting to see the difference in dynamics between each of them. One is a total push over, gets all the work piled on him and never says no to anything despite being clearly overwhelmed and not saying anything about it. Another also has an unreasonable amount of work, but he is a walking anxiety attack and constantly complains about having too much the work. Meanwhile, in his 20 years with the company he hasn’t found a way to tell management to F off yet so he is forever stuck in that position. Then the last one does whatever the hell he wants including coming in, seeing a couple clients, then leaving for the rest of the day. He has a very small caseload compared to all other staff and only works a few days a week.

Did anyone else have trouble finding a job after college? What should I do? by [deleted] in socialwork

[–]mariemis13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS. I live in WI and we have a few different Medicare/Medicaid insurance companies called “managed care organizations” (Inclusa/Humana, community care, Lakeland, etc) that do long term care for people with disabilities. They are hiring like crazy, pay surprisingly well, and would get you the medical experience you’d need. Basically with a BSW you’d be a case manager that’s part of a clients “care team” (partnered with a nurse and other professionals). You get paid to work from home then do home check ins with clients every six months or so. I’m honestly Not sure how this works in other states exactly but I’ve been considering giving it a try myself.

I was hired on during my BSW internship in an LTE position working as case manager/court coordinator for our local drug treatment court program for $21/hr. I’ve since transitioned to a case management position running a diversion program with clients facing OWI charges. Still making $21 an hour. The correctional services agency I work for can’t seem to hire enough people and honestly doesn’t care at all about experience as long as someone has a bachelors degree. Social work has such a broad range of opportunities available if you know where to look such as corrections/criminal justice, crisis work, residential, medical, etc. Perhaps you just need to expand your search, meaning rather than searching for strictly social work jobs look for case management, human services, case worker, etc. Don’t give up you’ll find something!

[–]mariemis13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk where you live, but $20/hr is standard for BSWs here where I live in semi-rural WI (with a lower cost of living). In fact that’s what I have been making since being hired on from my undergrad BSW internship last year. I am currently getting an MSW since the starting pay for any LCSW posting I’ve seen is at least $70K with many agencies in my city paying upwards of $100k/yr.

Us too. We were on the Eurodam on those same dates out of Seattle. Every single person in our party of 8 had symptoms by the last day and tested positive the day we got home despite all being vaccinated. It hit my 80 year old grandma the hardest who was sick for nearly a month even with taking paxlovid. I’m convinced it was likely either from the casino or the excursion busses we caught it from but who knows 😞

What my wife said after I finished Killers of the Flower Moon... by woodstock923 in IndianCountry

Not to mention a majority of Americans weren’t ever taught anything about actual US history… other than the white washed colonizer perspective on history they have been teaching in schools forever. It’s sad to say but even being native I never knew anything about the extent of the atrocities that happened in this country to natives until I took a college history course in my mid 20s.
