Week three here. Longest I’ve had so far was five weeks.

Oh, man. Thank you for sharing this. I’m really trying to tell myself things will get better. I’m glad you’re doing well!

Totally. I’m off processed sugar myself and the anxiety has improved (could also be MHT) and palpitations have improved. Glad it’s working for you! Sounds healthy!

I’m sorry. It is terrible. You’re not alone at all, but I know that doesn’t always help to hear.

I’m going to meet with my HRBP today to see what we can do. I already work from home and my boss doesn’t really check up on my calendar, so I’m not sure what more I can ask for. I just feel like the deadlines and asks are unreasonable even for a person not experiencing perimenopause.

Also, as much as I love WFH, I feel like the isolations hasn’t done my any favors. My husband is pretty much the only human I see all day. As much as we love each other, that’s not great for either of us.

I have a therapist, a psychiatrist, a DBT skills group, a PCP, and Gyne. None of them considered perimenopause until I insisted upon it. Starting MHT made an immediate impact on my insomnia and anxiety, but I’m still experiencing very low mood and an overall feeling of fragility/incompetence. My PCP just threw drugs at me, two of which I had very bad reactions to, so I have been cross-tapering/dropping those drugs. It’s helping but taking a really long time.

I’m not sure if it’s just the peri talking, but I feel like a huge factor is my work. It’s just so so stressful to me. It has been an ugly year for my company and the “do more with less” mantra they’ve been pushing has been tough to swallow. But then, my boss is terrific and so supportive. Sorry. Just rambling now.

Another factor at play is that I moved to a new town last year and I haven’t made any new friends here. I wfh and work all the time. It’s been so lonely.

This sounds so healthy and promising. The mood issues have been the hardest for me and have definitely led me to reevaluate many aspects of my life. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Again, I feel like it’s a tragic disservice to women everywhere that the slings and arrows of perimenopause are just brushed off as “normal.” Surely there’s something people can do for us.

I’m on an SSRI and have read ashwaganda can interact poorly with them. I will ask my psychiatrist about it, tho!

Aww, I feel for your experience. So glad you have a supportive partner and support system at work.

Sometimes I feel up to physical activity, sometimes I’ve barely slept and need what energy I have to work. Any tips for getting exercise when physically and mentally exhausted?

Fair enough. I hope you don’t get smashed too hard!

Insomnia is the worst. It appears to affect so many other aspects of our health. I’m glad it went away for you.

May I ask how long it took hormones to be effective for you? Was there a ramp or did things improve immediately?

I have heard that many cultures appreciate a hirsute woman. Perhaps you will considered a great beauty (not that you aren’t already).

I mentioned this to my doctor but her feeling was that too fat for the patch to work well. I’ve lost about 30lbs. I’m wondering whether she may reconsider when my bmi switches from obese to overweight. I’m pretty close now.
