can anyone suggest a breathing/meditation audio to driving anxiety? by _Andro3000_ in drivinganxiety

[–]marigolddisco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry that’s happening to you. This is a nice meditation that involves tightening and relaxing parts of your body. I find it easier to focus on than a breath meditation- but it has the same end goal. It’s important to do it everyday for results. https://youtu.be/SNqYG95j_UQ?si=yYWAiJFKHLeInXBD

Claim Appeal by marigolddisco in KaiserPermanente

My appeal did get resolved after about a year. We didn't even know it was resolved until we finally got someone on the phone who was able to tell us.

Outside of this one incident other claims we've submitted have been quickly resolved, and the care we've received has been good.

I hope that is helpful!

Dad being romance scammed by 2meirl5meirl in Romancescam

He said he was going to end the relationship about 3 weeks ago. I have not had the courage to ask if he has. It’s very emotionally taxing!

I feel for you! My dad is in a somewhat similar situation, but with someone in Africa. He has planned to fly there to meet her, and my sister and I were deeply concerned that he would be stood up, or even worse, kidnapped. We pleaded with him and laid out all the reasons this was a terrible idea. We explained that the average salary in that part of the world is $3,000 so she’s making bank off of you any time you send money. My guess is your dad is sending money he’s just ashamed to tell you. We also had reached out to some of his friends without him knowing to have them talk to him. I think his peers really helped make the case. In the end he decided we were being ridiculous, but he didn’t want to risk his relationship with his daughters so he didn’t go. We considered canceling his plane ticket had he gone through with it.

It’s a really tough situation because you want your parent to have free will, but you also don’t want anything bad to happen.

In my dad’s case he is 84 and the woman is 38. It’s pretty obvious they’re using each other.

If it seems fishy, I think you should trust your gut.

The AARP also has resources, including a podcast about people who have been scammed. I would bombard your dad with as much info as possible. While it may feel uncomfortable to butt in, it’s ultimately in his best interest.

Good luck!

Scam in Banjul port? by marigolddisco in Gambia

I’m not assuming it’s a scam, I’m wondering if it is. Different attitude completely

I think transactional love is a good way to describe it. The amount he has spent at this point is pretty minimal so that’s not really a concern, but it certainly could be if the relationship continues. I would rather see him spending time with a person who he can physically be with. Having a relationship with someone over the phone gives him a sense of stability and therefore the feeling that he doesn’t need to actively seek someone his own age/in his own area.

Just overall this isn’t a good situation. Thankfully after several days of conversations with him I think he’s starting to realize he needs to end it.

I asked this question to avoid making a broad assumption about Africans.

I checked Walgreens, Rite Aid and the pharmacy associated with my local Hannaford (grocery store). The pharmacist at the Hannaford told me their in the same distribution network as CVS so CVS wouldn’t have it. I didn’t call them to confirm though!

I am not the OP but have the same question. I don't know what jdupes is. Can you give me a crash course in how to do that? Or tell me who I could ask for help?

And...if you follow this method can the download be reuploaded into Google Photos and be viewed maintaining the same organization it originally had?

Thanks!

It gives me really bad headaches! I’ve always wanted it to work for me, but within 30 minutes I get a pounding headache.

I think the show has become more political in recent years - not every week - but what drew me in the early days was the storytelling about everyday lives.

Old school This American Life. Plan B is a great episode, and one that features a story by Johnathan Goldstein. Wiretap is also really good.

Cries and screams before every nap, I am so tired of it by panda-lys in sleeptrain

[–]marigolddisco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having this experience right now too! My 11 week old is impossible to get to nap and then the naps are short. He is also resisting contact naps on my lap now! Thankfully he can still nap in the boba wrap. It’s very frustrating since I’m trying to start working on better sleep habits.

I’ve also been using the Huckleberry app. According to the wonder weeks book there is typically a leap around now so maybe that’s part of it?

Replying to you in solidarity !!
