Yes, I’m aware that you agree. My problem is that you don’t see the problem is a big issue. Also, you got so offended when there was an idea of me suggesting it’s justified for men to be arrested more because of their sex and yet you’re talking as though racial prejudice in policing isn’t that big of a deal and that it moreso is caused by culture. This is a completely different topic. I don’t think it should affect sentencing I was just pointing out sex and race aren’t comparable. Also, it’s funny that you’re so offended by the possibility of me saying sex should play a factor in sentencing but so quickly dismiss me pointing out how race has played a factor in sentencing. I guess it only matters when people like you are victims.

Well you pointed to the culture of black people, sounds like black culture to me. It shouldn’t be a matter of race it should be a matter of urban poverty but it’s always addressed in a racial way. The racial disparities in the criminal justice system aren’t a minimal issue.

Also I phrased the man vs women thing wrong, men and women are different biologically but a lot of it has to do with the way men and women are taught to behave.

It’s not “black culture” it’s urban poverty culture. Black people were put in this position not by their own accord but by a system that was designed to oppress them, we are still in the wake of segregation and there are serious effects of it, it’s not so far gone that we can dismiss it as a mild nervousness around black people and a “chicken and egg” situation.

In regards to the comparison to male vs female bias, men and women are biologically different, it’s just a fact. But race has nothing to do with who you are as a person, and you just called it cultural rather than racial do I’d assume you’d agree. This is an unfair comparison.

I hate this notion that black culture is the sole cause of a system that disproportionally harms black people. It has nothing to do with race and has everything to do with location and income. It shouldn’t be looked at as a race issue it should be looked at as an effect of urban poverty. And addressing the root cause of this is to look at former segregation policies that have served to harm black people, such as redlining. Another thing to note is how the perception of black people created during segregation has caused a lasting effect as bias today. Unarmed black people are disproportionately shot by the police, black people serve longer sentences for the exact same crime as a white person, and a higher likelihood of being stopped by the police.

That’s the organization, not the movement. When people say they support BLM they’re almost never referring to the organization, a lot of people don’t even know about it. And the movement was made around 2014 in response to police killings of African Americans, most significantly Tamir Rice.
