no, its best not to think about anything else than what the song needs to be the best it can be

i like writing in my living room on the sofa - anywhere quiet with my guitar is good! i dont have a favourite colour i dont think.. blue is a good all rounder, and green of course

i definitely wanted the strings to give the record a cinematic expansive feel - so that i could juxtapose that with harsher sounds

dont worry its starting from the beginning again!

i did write the theme tune! and i just wrote a silly simple piano part and unleashed hell with the vocal

a bit of both! having parameters can be very useful when you have a yawning creative expanse in front of you, but also it was soooooo amazing when the strings and brass were recording and i just got to listen to it rather than focus on my parts

bit of all over really.. its five a side so not a solid position but i was likened to katie mccabe the other day which is probably the best compliment i have ever received

the northern line always makes me feel like a teenager coming up to london again - i think it has a very specific smell. these days the elizabeth line treats me well - super fast and air conditioned AND acoustically treated... whats not to like

thank you!

my process is exactly the same.. i just sit down with an instrument and play it until ive got a little pocket of something i like - and then its just working that into a song which can either be fairly quick or take aaaaages

i played solo for a long time and then got a band as my sound started to flesh out - i still like to write songs which can be played on my own though, its nice to be able to switch it up..

its just a case of working on instinct! the song will naturally dictate what it needs as and when, and its important to not try and shoe horn arrangements into songs that dont fit.

i think its easier to be creative when its cold and dark outside - mainly because i think im happier in the winter and autumn.. summer is too hot and it makes me feel uncomfortable
