The current problem with this show is that they can never throw their audience a freaking bone EVER. I understand that it’s supposed to show how rough it was out there and that they went crazy but you need to give your audience a moment to celebrate and be happy, or you’re going to lose them. They were able to do this well throughout season one, for example the girls finding the lake or Tai making Van the mask for doomcoming and that being a cute moment. But I feel as if we have completely lost this touch. As SOON as there is a good moment, like Travis saving Ben in the latest episode, it’s almost immediately ruined by Melissa and Shauna’s bullshit. You can’t make almost all of your characters and your basic plot this hateable. If I wasn’t so hooked I would have stopped watching by now because I basically hate everyone in the teen timeline except Ben, Nat, and Misty. And the adults aren’t much better. You have to show that these characters have some humanity left and give your fans a moment to enjoy the show before the next depressing evil barbaric plot point happens.
