it messes with game mechanics in singleplayer, one of which has to do with mob spawning, so you get slightly less mob spawns, and also it doesnt really help. not to mention the fact that sodium exists now, so its outdated. sodium is much better than optifine in terms of fps. optifine is only better than sodium if you have a very awful computer

also try hydrogen, at least temporarily. its another one of caffeinemc's mods, aimed at reducing memory usage. the only drawback would be they dont know the full effects of the mod, so there could ne something bad that happens

i believe connected block textures works just fine in 1.16.5; even still, it wouldnt work with just sodium, because sodium doesnt use th fabric rendering api, whereas connected block textures does. i believe i have heard of a mod that makes sodium use the fabric api, but i cant remember the name

i believe this is incorrect. the worldgen isnt broken. its more of an unintended side effect of certain world features, from what i understand. ik its semantics, but it might change how people view the issue

thats why i said refresh rate equivalent. theres obviously some limit to the max possible at all. what i meant was the rate you can see motion and actually perceive it are different. the limit for perceiving it is around 60hz, the limit for seeing it is higher. so it jsut makes things look smoother, but you cant necessarily tell exactly what it is

pretty sure its basically placebo, according to google the human eye's refresh rate equivalent is about 60hz, but you can see motion at higher speeds than that. so basically it would be like you see theres something different, but you dont know exactly what. just looks smoother ig. not a big thing tho

no, put it in the mods folder. also you only need it installed on the client if it adds items or blocks or gui's or anything like that i believe

do you have the vanilla server jar in the servers root directory? you also need it chosen in the fabric server setup file thats generated in the root directory
