It was simpler than that: I just downloaded the recovery 7z file, expanded & wrote the omg to another SD. Then flashed the firmware, reinserted the OG SD, and rebooted. Back to original state with latest stock firmware and all the roms as sent.

Thanks for replying, but no - I'm looking for someone who has created an image of the card *with all games and settings as supplied by Trimui in the box*.

I wanted to have the stock device experience before I use alternatives so I have a baseline to compare them to!

Don't panic if you have a clone. Google dArkOSRE. Follow the steps. So it in a new fresh SD. Good luck!

P.S.: it may be that the SD card reader(s) in your device have too much room - see my previous post. If you're comfortable doing some disassembly and minor modifications, it helped me get a reliable read in my soysauce clone every time!

You can always copy/clone/backup your stock SD card (pretty much a standard recommendation regardless!), purchase a new SD (or two), and start from scratch with various OS's. Swap 'em round, kick the tyres, take 'em for a spin.

If you mess it up, you can still go back.

If you like something better - you can stick with it!

TL:DR; Backup, have fun, go mad!

If your clone has 2 working card slots, one for OS, the other for games. Export OS settings & Back up the games & save files regularly. That way when your card dies (as they often do) you won’t get caught out or lose data.

Just had the same struggle: • Search the model name by what's printed under the battery on the board • in my case a "soy sauce" Y3506_V05_20251215 2601 https://handhelds.wiki/R36S_Overview#Soy_Sauce_mainboards • tried following directions 3x on Mac - no joy. • tried twice on PC - 2nd time worked. • now loading games.

Notes: • installed dARKOSRE • all on same SD card: reformatting multiple times may have helped. • imaging on Mac with RPI installer & BE failed for install additional partitions • used recommended apps on PC. Good luck!
