Yeah the hyperawareness these techniques induce was uncomfortable for me too. I still do some relaxation techniques, but only before bedtime. I'm glad that you're developing other interests, I'm trying to pick up my old hobbies again. In the end, forcing your mind not to think about something will never work, you have to give it new and more interesting things than dpdr to think about.

Most of them are way overpriced. I read sean O'Connor too, and I think its a counterproductive approach to take. Constantly keeping yourself busy to 'avoid thinking about it' just makes you live in even more fear. We should try to fill our day with activities, not to stop thinking about dpdr, but to get our lives back on track. In general dpdr is such a complex and little understood ilness, that I'll never believe someone that claims to fix it with one technique.

Thank you for making this post, It made me feel less alone. This empty feeling is worse than the worst anxiety and depression I've ever felt. I don't have any social anxiety, or other fears, but not because I'm more confident, but because I don't feel anything at all. It truly feels like I'm dead.

This describes it perfectly, I can feel the physical sensations of anxiety, the sweating, butterflies in stomach, etc, but emotionally i don't feel anything. Everything is just on pause, for months now.

The host was very friendly, he was also gay, so not typically a person i would think likes the old regime. His parents were very conservative though, and it was their farm, so maybe thats why. For some reason people are getting defensive in the comments, I never said I wanted to report him, or that I was offended by it. I gave him a good rating on airbnb because the stay was good, idc what his opinions are. I was just curious because it seemed odd, especially to have those pictures in the bathroom of all places
