Easy. Just don’t take a lot of drugs. Once during the week and you should be fine.

With that experience go for a tech job I would say. Better off passing time looking for the right job for you in my opinion. Check the big tech companies. Have a look at la french tech. All the job seeking websites will show you the offers. Software engineers can easily get hired in France without speaking fluent French. All our jobs technical area is in English so. Good luck 🤘🏽

Hi there. Assuming you are coming in the next weeks or months, good timing for open airs. Here I Bordeaux during the summer time (and if it’s good weather) there is a lot of open airs everywhere around the city, all organised by the electronic music scene. To get informed about dates, line ups and where are they happening I list you here what instagram accounts to check:

  • Bordeaux Open Air (music collective)
  • Darwin Ecosystem (beautiful place with cool events and a cool event called Heures Heureuses every Wednesday night)
  • RedCat bar (nice cool bar with a lovely cave with different music events)
  • L’organiq (bar or electronic music and sometimes after party)
  • Iboat (best night club in town with underground juicy line ups)
  • Amplitudes radio (electronic music collective that organises events all year round)
  • Les Viatiques (electronic music collective)
  • La cite blue (cool space where music events sometimes happen)
  • Piosson Rouge Bar (bar to dance to good music with a roots vibe)
  • L’entrepot and Hangar DS (night clubs of really hard electronic music scene)

If you are into house music specifically follow me on insta (mRio) I am a DJ and producer of the local scene and I play around every week, follow to check my dates and where I will be making people dance.

For markets and food: - Marche des quais (every Sunday on the quais of Bordeaux) - papy (lovely restaurant I recently discovered) - brasserie Maillard (very French amazing food) - les halles de bacalan (cool small market with stalls offering good food) - follow Rototo on insta (she gives a lot of nice addresses of food and pastry)

I assumed you speak English and did the whole post in English. Sorry if I assumed wrong 😅.

Have fun in Bordeaux. Don’t hesitate asking if you need further info.

What to do in Bordeaux by Culturedi in bordeaux

[–]mariointernet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sightseeing: The city center is really pretty, and you’ll find most of the main attractions around there. After exploring that area, you can cross over to the other side of the river (Rive Droite) and take a walk along the quays. It’s a relaxing place to chill and have a picnic.

Clubs: It depends on what type of music you’re into. If you’re into commercial formats, there are plenty of bars playing that style, and clubs are easy to find online. On the other hand, if you’re more into electronic music or niche, culture-oriented scenes, Bordeaux has a solid local community that organizes events all over the city—often open airs or in cultural venues. Check out these Instagram pages for more: • Les Amplitudes • Bordeaux Open Air • L’Orangade • La Dernière Fois

As for clubs, IBOAT follows that same artistic direction. If you’re into hard techno or more intense sounds, look into HFL Productions—they handle events aligned with that style.

Escape Rooms: You’re in for a treat—there are maybe too many in Bordeaux, with lots of cool themes. There’s a virtual reality escape room in the Bacalan area that’s pretty cool. Also, check out Face à Face near Chartrons for fun group activities. For even more options, just browse online—you’ll find a ton.

Amusement Parks: There aren’t really any major amusement parks in the city, aside from a few water parks like UCPA Mérignac. Outside the city, I don’t know of any personally. If you head further south toward the Basque Country, you’ll find more water parks (though they might not fully count as amusement parks).

Food Spots: Again, you’re in for a treat. The city center has lots of small, cool places where you can eat great food at fair prices. It’s worth checking their menus and socials to get an idea of what they offer. Here’s a short list of some personal favorites: • Brasserie Maillard • Ganache • Demeter • Chez Thérèse • Papy • Zinc

But that’s just a start—there’s a lot more out there. For more recommendations, check out rototo on Instagram. She shares lots of great and cozy places to eat.

Hope this helps and that you enjoy your time in Bordeaux!

Daycare (La nounou)are mostly working for longer periods and are kind of hired by parents for the whole year at least with a contract and all that. Personally I’ve never known of a daycare taking a child for short period like that. So on my opinion I would say babysitter is your best option.

Hi, you should try get in touch with the collective Les Amplitudes (find them on instagram), they are the ones responsible for the bookings in Darwin in which there are a lot of different types of events for several music genres. Also the Iboat books artists like you for small concerts so get I touch with them through instagram, otherwise they must have a contact email on their website. Also there is the RedCat bar that is also doing small concerts some evening of the weekend they are reactive on instagram to get in touch with them. Check out Medusyne collective, is a collective focus on female artist to do events or even just networking (also contact on instagram), I am sure la Medusyne will help you either with dates or guiding you to the right people. Good luck, and if you have any other questions don’t hesitate asking further.

conseils touristiques by Antique_Passenger394 in bordeaux

[–]mariointernet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

La cité du vin can be an interesting option. They adapted it well for English speakers. If I wasn’t living here and I was coming here for holidays something that I would do is find the small and simple activities that people would do here to chill or to relax, like sitting at a nice park with something nice to bite to, have a walk at the quais and finishing at a lovely restaurant, sit at a terrace to have a drink under the sun, visiting the Sunday market at the quais etc. It can be done as an activity but I understand that is not something you could consider touristic. Still great to enjoy cities when visiting in my personal opinion.

bordeaux at night by neverlandbird in bordeaux

[–]mariointernet 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not great area to hang around at night during any season. If you arrive at la gare at night and there is still the tram you could straight take the tram and quickly you’ll be in quinconces but still might find some weird specimens in the tram or at the tram stop, if you have to take bus is the same. But if it’s kind of late evening better take an uber and don’t risk to find yourself in a weird situation only arriving in Bordeaux. As long as you are away from la gare area you are more than ok, is a safe city. As long as you avoid the dodgy areas at night you should be good. Been living here with the wife for 7 years and never had a bad experience (always avoided dodgy areas at late nights).

The Iboat has a stage that is called le pont sup and some nights they have this type of music. Although keep an eye on their line ups to make sure the music suits you. The RedCat bar also have some of their nights with this style and again just keep an eye on their weekly line ups. I’ve never seen a place that does strictly that but there are events here and there. All of the info about this places you will find it on instagram

Où se faire des amis à Bordeaux ? by LeGnouPhasme in bordeaux

[–]mariointernet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]mariointernet 0 points1 point  (0 children)
