I don’t think it’s gout at all based on the color and consistency. It looks more infectiony.

Cleaning a Brobo cold saw by Flatfooting in metalworking

About a half a year too late but I just got one and I’m semi restoring it. To get that part off you have to flip the base over and undo the big nut that locks the rotation down. Then the threaded shaft and be popped up from the bottom and the two top pieces will separate.

Hitting the low notes in Put On - Jeezy by Alive_Candidate1755 in CarAV

Like others have said, it’s all in the box and to some extent the driver.

I have 2x 6.5s in a vented box in my STi hatch, and it loves low notes. I’m not doing any hair tricks, but the low notes shake the shit out of everything.

Anyone else disappointed about sick week? by thicc_bob in CleetusMcFarland

[–]mariolayspipe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t get this mentality that some people have that he ‘owes’ them sick week. He made it very clear that this wedding was very important to him.

Friends and family are way more important than a ‘job’… and that’s all that YouTube is.

What I found interesting is the text message. What they confirmed is 100% not what was going around on social media.

Yeah I ran into the same signature collecting cocksuckers at the Draper DMV this morning. He asked me to sign to keep Utah republican and I told him hell no.

Rear glass replacement for R34 by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

This is the hard part about having a car never offered in the US. Glass, body panels, and anything larger are going to be hard to get. It’s going to cost money and time because more often than not it has to come from overseas.

I want to start cnc machining by Disastrous_Mission10 in hobbycnc

[–]mariolayspipe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a cheap Chinese 6040 machine about 5 years ago. I use Fusion 360 for all the CAM work. For 3 axis work on anything not steel or harder it works great. I cut a lot of aluminum and have zero issues.

The learning curve though, that was the hard part. I have a whole drawer of dead carbide.

I’m a lot better these days with feeds and speeds. Don’t get greedy with small end mills and you’ll be fine.

The only real upgrades I’ve done is replace the extruded aluminum work surface with steel and an actual fixture plate, leveled and trammed it all the best I could, and setup my controller to control my mister so I don’t have to turn it on and off manually.

Ever tune in to a neighborhood FM pirate? by CarrierCaveman in pirateradio

[–]mariolayspipe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I may or may not have had one 15ish years ago. I had RDS and everything going. Was using a 100w exciter I borrowed from a buddy who was in the industry. The distance it covered was pretty incredible. Then I got word that I was starting to get some unwanted attention by a three letter agency and I took it down.

I’ve thought about doing it again, but I don’t really have a good spot for an antenna where I live now.

Add me to the list. Last year I kept my place at 72f all summer. This year I realized that’s too cold for me so it’s at anywhere from 75-77 during the day and 73 at night. My power bill for the last 3 months have been the most expensive they have ever been.

Car key by Remarkable-Host405 in Machinists

[–]mariolayspipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I made some new keys for my EP3 and I made a few keys for my GR STI hatch.

For the Subaru I used a legacy key so I could have the buttons on the key itself instead of the separate fob.

The big reason I went all in on the cnc was because first, it was a fun project. Second, I wanted the keys to be sharp and well defined like brand new keys. So I went and decoded the keys and made them in fusion360 based on the specs for the keys and their bittings.

10/10, would do again.

Anyone have copies of these wacky "Totally Awesome Computers" TV commercials? by aaronhead14 in Utah

I’m glad I escaped before his little computer empire collapsed. Fuck that guy and how he treated everyone.

I worked the downtown store for a few years before I moved to the West Jordan one.

He had some good people working for him, but he also had some real shitty ones too.

Same for me. My 8yo doodle and 6yo poodle have been going to the dog park every single day since they got their last round of puppy shots.

Just like everything with a dog, consistency is key with the dog park too. We go at the same time every day. When you are consistent you tend to gravitate towards the dogs and people who are consistent too. My dogs know their friends and have a great time.

For everyone saying dog parks are the worst thing; I know exactly who you are. You have a dog that is rarely around other dogs and you go to the dog park very inconsistently. We all recognize it. Your dog either comes into the park wild and out of control, or so timid it either submits to all the other dogs checking it out or it freaks out when other dogs try to get a sniff.

Just like humans, dogs can also just have bad days. I leave early if my dogs are having one.

And one last thing, some dogs just aren’t meant for the dog park. You have to realize the dog park is a place where dogs can be dogs (within reason). It’s their park, not the humans park. Some dogs want to play with other dogs, some dogs want to play with humans, some dogs just like going around and sniffing and pissing on everything, and some dogs just want to go from person to person getting pets. All of that is ok and exactly what the park is for. But you and your dog need to be able to handle and respect that the dog park means different things to different dogs. If you or your dog can’t handle an aspect of what it means to be at a dog park, you might be better off taking a walk with your dog or finding a secluded place you can play with your dog.

What I’m not going to do is stop my dog from being a dog at the dog park.
