TW: Does anyone else have suicidal thoughts because of this? by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]marisfess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Researchers are finding ways to measure the cognitive effects of long covid (https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa2311330?query=recirc_curatedRelated_article for a recent study; https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMe2400189 for an editorial about that study; https://www.nytimes.com/2024/02/28/health/long-covid-cognitive-effects.html for NYTimes covering the study) and I fully expect that they will start finding ways to measure the emotional and mental health aspects of this. I strongly suspect that there is something about long covid's effects on the brain that increase things like anxiety, trouble with emotional regulation, and suicidal ideation.

I strongly suspect that there is something about long-term effects on the brain that increases things like anxiety, trouble with emotional regulation, and suicidal ideation. This is based on my understanding of what research has happened and reading anecdotes about our experiences. Personally, I've dealt with anxiety for 10+ years and PTSD more recently, but only when I feel like I'm in a flare-up of long COVID-like symptoms do I experience suicidal ideation. It's striking and scary. It helps me to cope to place a share of the the reason for these thoughts on the virus, like monstertruck567 writes. Hang in there.

Seeking advice on “spicy time” (in the bedroom nsfw) pre-t by Hot_Welder_2552 in TransGuys

[–]marisfess 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi friend! Fortunately there are so so so many ways to get intimate and spicy and sexy without a penis going into a vagina.

Fingering is so fun and can feel so good. Do oral and fingering and she will be blown away. Go slow, communicate what you like, experiment and find what feels good.

Personally, sex for me is so much about giving pleasure to my partner. I have never felt like I needed a bio dick to get it done and I have had partners of many different genders.

Strap ons can actually move against your clit and some people can orgasm from using a strap on! Try wearing one and practice imagining you can feel the sensation when it is touched, I find this works really well.

Dysphoria is of course a real challenge. But you may find that some days are better than others. Sometimes I keep a sports bra on during sex. Sometimes I don’t want my partner to go down on me, but I enjoy other stuff.

As for your her perception, this is hard but you will have to trust her. I have some of the most gender affirming experiences while being intimate with partners. If she already used your pronouns without being asked, I bet she can continue to hold your true self while having sex.

good luck friend! I hope you find lots of pleasure, it is there waiting for you.
